Take that, Microsoft!

The United Space Alliance, which manages the computers aboard the International Space Station in association with NASA, has announced that the Windows XP computers aboard the ISS have been switched to Linux. “We migrated key functions from Windows to Linux because we needed an operating system that was stable and reliable.”

Actually, given the relatively little funding NASA gets, I'm surprised they're not running on a TR-80...

Noted. It's been so long, I've kind of forgotten the full name. BTW, I actually have one of the first 'portable' personal computers, known as the Compaq 'luggable". Damn thing weighs about 30 pounds or so. It will still fire up, if I can find the 5.5" DOS floppies...
