View Full Version : re-evaluating SH5

Well, it seems that knowing a trick or two, and some modding, your own or a download. Appears to solve the issues after all. That is once you know were the data folder is.

Anyway I do give the game a thumbs up . For me it is rolling into November of 1939.

Likes...:yeah:

1) you can venture any part of the boat. I always thought it should have been this way in SH3.

2) the transpernt water. when in Salt water, you should be able to look down and see something in the water in about 10 meters anyway.

3) working ship enviroment. From Bow to Stern It is good to see movment instead of standing like statues. Even Was very cool to watch the torpedo crew re-load a tube.

4) The game could grow on you.

5) Crew interaction. The pointless talks and raised sprits is what is expected on a ship. Because your crew and you in a time like that is a close family. How ever the dialog is limited and should have been a bit more expanded

Diss-likes...

1) Unable to get other type Uboats. I miss my type 9 and home sick for it. So I am tired of useing the type 7. But it is what it is.

*Resolved by Volodya61, see post #4* -2) Custom setting for difficaulty is not part of the campaing choices and redundant as a MP option.

3) The XO needs to stop being a baby about being a called a pirate and show pride for returning the old days of the 1700's back to England. But he will give over it...

4) Docking, I miss being able to compleatly dock the boat myself, I never had a issue with this.

Hates...:/\\!!

*CONFERMED*+1) Need a internet connection and connected to Ubiplay as a -->MUST!! Not every place in the states has a possable Inet connection by Cable/DSL. Other places in the way out still use the modem because no other service is avaiable for some reason. I use to live in such a place for 4 years and was stuck with Half-life 2 the orenge box because of the modem connection made the install impossable.

Do you not able to change difficulty options in the campaign?
Am I understand you correctly?

You can change options only in the bunker.. not in the main menu screen.. once you started a new campaign and bunker was loaded press Esc and you will be able to change any difficulty settings ever you want :yep:, save the game and these settings will remain in your campaign.. if you are using OHII campaign mod then reload last save for correct campaign start.. that's all :)

In your saved games folder/Data/Cfg is a file GameSettings.cfg. You can change all difficulty settings there at any time.

Why do it manually and poking around in the files if you can do it in the game? :06:

Ubi patched out the always-on internet requirement over a year ago. Once the game is installed and authenticated once, you can always go into the Uplay options and set it to "offline" mode. The game will still say that it is synchronizing save games, but this is moot in offline mode. You should have no problems.

Right...but when you go to do the campaing as in "START a NEW" Campaing for your first time, there is a lil tab at the bottom. Custom settings is not a choice listed. Just easy, meduim and so forth. I already scrolled the list, I am filmilure how the game works. There is no Custom choice on that. In SH3 I can get and use a custom settings but NOT in SH5.

So even though I have it set in the options menue custom it will be returned to what I am forced to select, which is easy mode. I do not want easy mod, and meduim mode is just easy mod with a few selections that I do not use anyway. See?

If the custom settings is for MP, well that is redundant by a long shot. What good would it be to play it only for MP?

And I know what I am doing here because if I get out of the game, my custom setting are reverted to to what the game is set at.

I have the Disk version, and the autoupdater already updated the game.

So............

I enter the game......it gives me the option to log in off-line mode...
Game starts up....tells me about a synic save game with server failuer...
I start a game anyway....it tells me a synic with server failuer and aborts ANYWAY :/\\!!....

I have Elder Scroll V: SkyRim. Even though I hate STEAM, I can play that game on-line, or log in off-line mode, and play it ANYWAY :shifty:...

See?

I do not have any issues and I am in offline mode. Getting the Uplay to start in offline mode is wonky. When you selected offline mode, did Uplay restart to begin in offline mode? It sounds like you have found the option, but it is not taking.

Well I had tried out a mod and it turns out I had to remove and re-install the game to get certain options back. So maybe it when I install the game and start it up, the autoupdater will do it right this time. And I will try again.

If it dose work that will be cool and that can be resolved, but if you can not save it, then the problem stands.
You can save and play SkyRim in offline mod not connected to the internet at all. But that is the way STEAM dose that, even for their own games by Valve like Half-life 2. I may not care for STEAM but I give them that. You can play dissconnected from the Internet and still play the game in off-line mode.

Kessner
04-21-13, 03:30 PM
Ok, Here is how this works....

I just re-tested it again, this is a clean install of SH5. I even started it online so it could be reg and updated. With the disk still in the drive, I go dissconnecte from The Inet, because this is "REAL OFF-LINE MODE" on many levels. Game claims there is no internet connection. it tells me it saves and then aborts...So it is a "FAIL" at playing off line all togeather.:shifty:

When I say playing in off-line mode I mean like how STEAM dose it. Logged in "OFF-LINE MODE" and dissconnected from the Inet. This is "REAL" off line mode because there is no internet connection at all. And you can play Half-life 2 or SkyRim or what ever all day long and not be bothered by STEAM for anything.

When I hear it is fixed I am thinking like ROCKSTAR games of GTA V, were you can play in "OFF-LINE MODE" Dissconnected from the Internet. But you can not save games.

As long as you have to be connected to the Internet in order to play anything, there is no Off-line mod. So this option is redundant by 100 fold... My statement still stands.....

Well, I just tested this and it worked for 2 hours with no glitches or problems.

I launched Uplay Launcher.
I disabled my internet (by shutting down the controller completely)
I played for 2 hours with no CTDs or any other problems.

This topic is very old now.

If you have setup for offline mode correctly - you only need an internet connection the very first time you sign in.
There after if you start with no connection - uplay will check for any updates to the launcher - find no connection and let you start the game

I agree with you the topic is VERY old...

And if you have looked at the pics. I do not see how much more is needed for a "Set Correctly off-line mod" than what is done. If there is another selection that no one is telling me about, then I can see were I am unable to do this. If in the "PICS" is the way to set it for off-line mode. And as seen in the "PICS" I can not do so.

Then it is what it is. I am NOT a "SOFTWERE COMPUTER IDIOT"! I Do not see what is so hard to understand that! I am not NEW to "PC VIDEO GAMES" world! I have been understanding the concept since 1994!!

I know what "ON-LINE" is and I know what "OFF-LINE" is, My goodness I network my very home computers for LAN play with the kids!!! The "PICS" show what happends, that is the out come. There is nothing more to it! It is that simple. So unless there is something in the "PICS" that is not there that I need to do, then tell me. Do not not tell me if I set it the right way it will play off line!! What right way? What advanced setting that my stupid self over looked that makes it not work like everyone else sir?
Because it is updated, and this is the $8.00 game available in the US.
And it can play with no disk....

Talking about your problem, my ubi laucher settings are exactly like yours, except for the "Enable in game overlay" checkbox, unchecked and the "Disable all in game social notifications" checkbox, checked (but these should be unrelevant anyway). I have a question though: does the top right corner of your launcher's main tab display your username, as clearly shown in the second picture posted by Trevally? :hmm2:

In my post #21 page 2, there are two pics, I have no way to past the whole pic in the text spot on the fourm, But if you click on the lil pics, they WILL display what I have done. Yes my name shows up on the bar. I CAN start UP the game in OFF-LINE mode all the way to the menu. BUt when I go to to play a SAVED game or START a new game, it loads and then stops leaving me a Inet message of a NO connection, aborts and takes me BACK to the menu. The two pics are in my POST #21 page 2, they are the small pics below the post, Click on them to expand and you will see for yourself.

But NO ONE wants to LOOK :o...Instead of looking for them to see what I am talking about. It is easer to claim "I do not see a THING..." mock me and make me a fool or lyer WHEN THE PICS ARE RIGHT THERE! Than be ANY kind of help. So due to this action I realized that the problem can not
be-resolved because it is beyound anyone's understanding. Its $8.00 junkwere with a ball and chain, I will put up with it.

first off, you need to check the attitude, people are just trying to offer suggestions to help you and no one is doing anything but trying to be nice to you. your attitude is a bit harsh towards the solutions offered to you and maybe some suggestions are "basic" and simple things, these things still need to be mentioned because we aren't there with you to double check all of your settings. don't be so quick to dismiss all of them so quickly right offhand as implying you are some how stupid or not applying to your situation. if you did everything correctly it would be working for you. the best way for everyone to get "on the same page" with a problem is to start with a basic check list and start at the beginning and go down the list one item at a time so everyone is exactly clear what is going on with your situation and your game.

second, with problems like yours it is 99% of the time just a small error in an incorrect setting somewhere and as silly and redundant as you may think the suggestions are, they often work for people because they simply overlooked something and were assuming they did everything correctly.

lastly, the game works for everyone else so you didn't buy the only copy of the game that doesn't work yet you act as thou you did. acting the way you are is NOT the way to get help for your problem and asking to close the thread because you don't want to hear any more suggestions as to how you fix your problem makes no sense :hmmm: even if you don't care any more, others can and will be helped by this discussion.

Hello fellow wolves !

I played SH3 and 4 a few years ago now, and i'd like to start hunting again.

I have one, simple, question : is SH5 enjoyable? I've read a lot about problems here and there, but what problems exactly cannot be solved by mods?

And are there crashes or game-breaking bugs?

Okay that was three questions :p.

Thank you for your time !

Fifi
04-26-13, 04:38 PM
Good idea Mysterius!
Yes, SH5 is VERY enjoyable :yep:
You won't be desapointed if following few rules:
- trust known working mods list
- don't mess around with mods wich may be incompatible
- always unzip them with 7Zip
- Unzip them on your desktop first, and open them to find the right mod inside and data folder to use
- Correct path always must be "mod name"/Data
- read carefully all threads info and mod readme info
- last, never play more than X512 (even X1024 in open sea) to avoid any bug and bad surprise

If CTD and/or bugs, it's either your fault, and/or your computer perf capacity.
All problems i encountered at first was always my fault :yep:
Sober megamod list is working fine, and the lists i mentioned here http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showpost.php?p=2040978&postcount=1 are trouble free if corectely installed.

Agree with this statment and this one only...So I will, but I will tell AS IS.
"first off, you need to check the attitude"

I was a bit harsh, but then again I was tired of "statements close to", "in the same direction as" or "pointed twords" and "asumed as" this pointless statment...

"the game works for everyone else so you didn't buy the only copy of the game that doesn't work yet you act as thou you did"

It is the SAME AS or EQUAL TO and just as REDUNDANT as...

"Taking your car to a mech and telling him there is something wrong with your car and he and the other mech's are laughing at you and telling they have the same car and they do not have the problems and talk as if your stupid or mocking you."

"Trevally
Defence rests its case "
As if this is some kind of despute and not a problem issue..when it is a problem and not a dispute.

"Volodya61
tried to find these pics you posted earlier but no luck"
Even though they are clearly the attachments in post 21 page 2.
And his statment is in post 25 page 2.

"Targor Avelany
maybe the game just doesn't like him, Web, who knows? :har:"
My point on the spot, and that is too bad...

Now that is said and done...

Now were so many that touched this subject FAILED miserbly, and I do mean MANY as in EVERYBODY that mocked their insight to this problem.
I did discovered this...Someone had the SMARTEST REAL WORLD trouble shooting Responses that actully merit the problem in question.

From Thread "My Game Won't Patch"

*BigWalleye said
"Sorry you're having trouble. No, none of the SH series seems to work well out of the box. And WAEFRTD isn't an answer when they don't give you much D. Fortunately, there are folks here who will try to get you running.

Couple of questions: Where did you get your copy of the game? DVD or download? Where did you get your patch for v1.2? Did you use gu.exe? Have you looked at the upper right corner of the main menu screen to check the version number shown there? If it says V1.2.0, then your copy has already been patched.

I don't mean to impugn your competence with these questions. I'm just trying to figure out where the problem might be. Supply enough information and it's likely that someone here will recognize what is wrong and post a fix. "

*AND....Raymond6751
True, there are different patches for the boxed DVD version and the downloaded steam version. Also, did you alter the location of install from the default?

End from From Thread "My Game Won't Patch"

Which makes me re-think this...

"Ubi patched out the always-on internet requirement over a year ago. Once the game is installed and authenticated once, you can always go into the Uplay options and set it to "offline" mode. The game will still say that it is synchronizing save games, but this is moot in offline mode. You should have no problems."

And CLEARLY shows...the redundant statments....all this into the garbege
"I do not have any issues and I am in offline mode. "

"Well, I just tested this and it worked for 2 hours with no glitches or problems."

"the game works for everyone else so you didn't buy the only copy of the game that doesn't work yet you act as thou you did"
(end)
Now I NEVER SAID ONE THING, about the game not working correctly. I stated it will not Play in "OFFLINE MODE" with the internet "DISCONNECTED". Soooo.............

I do support this...and agree 100%

"the best way for everyone to get "on the same page" with a problem is to start with a basic check list and start at the beginning and go down the list one item at a time so everyone is exactly clear what is going on with your situation and your game."

So you do not need to be a VB Expert to understand the meaning of the words "trouble shooting"...Which puts this into question...
"Ubi patched out the always-on internet requirement over a year ago."

Now looking at Posts from Thread "My Game Won't Patch" got my wheels turning to look again at "none of the SH series seems to work well out of the box."

Like I said before...but with more info this time...

-I have the DVD, it is version 1.0.
-Back of Box says it is Made in Europe, No need for cd/dvd to play, unlimited installs, save games are synchronized online.
*PERMANENT CONNECTION IS REQUIERD TO PLAY THE GAME.
-Front of box has a spot that says "A internet connection is requierd to play the game".
-The box looks like a typical retail box by Ubisoft, so dose the disk.
-I bought it from a Amazon retailer on Amazon.com.
-The DVD was bought as NEW (I never by used unless the game is old enough for win98/win95)
-The game uses its own auto updater, and patches to the version 1.2 and claims it patched Successfuly.
-My Game can not play in offline mod disconnected from the internet..

To re-valuate this statment
"Ubi patched out the always-on internet requirement over a year ago."
I decided to LOOK at what the patches really do..

I go to play the game again after it was reinstalled fresh with patches 1.1 and 1.2 installed direct (I have them both downloaded).
By the use of "Trevally's" pics/pictures/images what EVER you wish to call them...as a guid for me to fallow which basicly leads to the same thing I have already done BEFORE this thread, I re-do again in case I missed something. Start the game, start a new Campaign, game begains and then aborts with this repeated reason displayed...

"The internet connection experiences problems and
the current game session was saved. Please wait
until the internet connection is restored or
press OK button to return to the main menu."

I go to check the Log infomation for attempting and failing to play the game in offline mode and disconnected...

With my Generic Patcher enable ONLY the SH_NClient patches. That will disable the Orbit Listener and should stop your connection problem.

whoever passed by first and if it were the axis ships you never knew if you would be passed by, shot, or picked up and sent to a prison camp, at least with the allies you knew you were just going to be sent to a camp

Your conclusion is just flat out wrong.

Seems to me you need to check the attitude along with that chip on your shoulder. You continue to be abrasive, as for your comment that I quoted above http://forums.ubi.com/showthread.php/704164-Starting-Uplay-in-Offline-Mode-Forums there is all the proof you need that always online DRM was removed from all ubisoft games, including SH 5. Everyone else who has purchased a disk copy can use the game in offline mode; that the problem is specific to you, points to the source of the problem.

One of three things is going on here: 1. you have an illegal copy of the game and you are using a hacked .exe. 2, you have a mod installed that is causing problems. 3, USER error, you are missing a step in getting it up and running, or are doing something out of sequence that has led to something not updating correctly. That's the bottom line; assuming everything has updated correctly and you are the admin account on that pc there is no other reason for your not being able to run it in offline mode.

A check list for you.

Uninstall the game and the Uplay launcher, navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\ and make sure you delete the folder "Ubisoft Game Launcher, also ensure the entire silent hunter 5 folder is deleted.

Go to the Uplay site and download the installer for Uplay (disregard the fact a copy comes with the game, download the latest installer from their site).

Install silent hunter 5 from your disk, once it’s done do not run it, disable any firewalls and virus software, run uplayinstaller.exe, once installed, run Uplay and log in with your account, ensure it has silent hunter 5 listed under games.

Next, navigate to the folder where you installed silent hunter, open the support folder, and then the gameupdater folder, now run gu.exe, let it download and install the updates (do not use patches from any other source, delete the patches you already have), now you can turn your firewall and anti-virus back on.

Before installing any mods, start silent hunter 5 from the Uplay launcher while in online mode to ensure it starts up and everything is working. Exit the game, now switch Uplay to offline mode, start the game again, it should now load just fine.

If you can't play offline, then just update the game. Put the disc in, press Play, and you'll automatically download one patch, then you'll be asked about another.

*1 Your conclusion is just flat out wrong.

*2 Seems to me you need to check the attitude along with that chip on your shoulder.

*3 there is all the proof you need that always online DRM was removed from all ubisoft games.

*1 No it is not, the log files are real, They have Waaaaaaaaaay more say so that you do at this time. Because they write out the infomation to WHY it failed, plain and simple. Like I said I have contacted Ubisoft regarding this problem, they requested the log infomation, I have sent them and they tell me they turned it over to thier softwere TECH's That is all there is to it.

*2 I did check my attitude and have no chip on my shoulder, if you think I do, then your upset because I am telling it like it is. I will never suger coat a lie...I am going to tell it like it is, of what I have done, and what has failed. If it is not liked, then I do not know what to say except too bad. I am not gonna lie and say all is good when it is not. If you tell me I am pretending, I will show the logs, I may know a little, but not enough to false the program logs. And you may see the logs the game produce and start telling me about everyone else works and my attitude, wich is nice and dandy but dose nothing for the exsisting problem, so it is a failed comment, see? Because the game logs do not lie, and tell more infomation on the fail...In short, they too tell it like it is as well.

Am I to belive my own game log is lying because you say so? Umm NOPE...

I have better things to do then create a bunch of made up none sense to get attention that will do nothing but make enemys and people to hate me. Bottom line. I think that is simple enough to understand...

*3 Thank you, but my game in OFFLINE mode DOSE WORK, how ever also disconnected from the internet Will NOT WORK, so all that is equal to and same as you telling me why my car should not be broke down because we have the same car...Very simple to understand I think.

This in NOT a illeagle copy, it was bought from a Amazon retailer on Amazon as a new game, plain and simple. I have the receipt to show for, and including all paper work to show for it. I have ordered new games from Amazon retailers before. I never delt with illeagle copies ever in my life for any game. Unless your trying to say the Amazon retailer is selling illeagle copies, YOU BEST watch that claim, because I will take leagle action against Amazon, and it will be with extreem prejudice. This will cause a investagation against the retailer. Alot is ridding on your claim. Buying a new game per say from a Amazon retailer and finding out it is a illeagle copy is against the law, there for action must be taken! I always get the games new, I personaly do not belive the Amazon retailer is selling illeagle copies of the game. The Code number worked fine no errors on install, and that is also plain and simple to understand...

Now as for the more logical and relistic question on your list...

No I have no mod program or mod installed. I question mod programs that alter or change game system files that have no infomation on its purpose to "WHY" it dose. A good pratice to fallow... The only mods I use are mainly simple dragg and drop mods because I am use to this from S.T.A.L.K.E.R., Elder Scrolls IV:Oblivion, Elder Scrolls V:SkyRim games.

No I never installed any mod in any game untill I have it up and running and tested first to make sure it is good to go. Then I will place in the mod and start a new game...

When I unistalled SH5 I even made sure all directories for SH5 were deleted.

I installed SH5 fresh new, Started the game online to make sure it works, then exited, then start in offline mode dissconnected from the internet, this is the same thing I have to do for SkyRim on STEAM. The abort log I have pasted into the post is from this last try.

Now this I have not tried yet and is the first time suggested...

"Go to the Uplay site and download the installer for Uplay (disregard the fact a copy comes with the game, download the latest installer from their site)"

ok I will try it this way...

*Just a foot note;

-I have a version text that says "995", that is all it says.

-In a "licenses.txt" it refs to a third party API's have been used to create the Ubisoft Game Launcher. This was part of the Disk version install.

-Now I have these two logs that say...
"orbitdll_game_log.txt" AND "orbitdll_launcher_log.txt"
...these are blank.

from what I have gotten out of his report (if I get it correctly) what he is saying is the problem isn't setting the game to run in offline mode but the fact that if you unplug the internet connection to the PC the game stops working.

this is where I think a lot of people are getting mixed up.

what he is saying (if I get it correctly) is that when playing the game you must have an internet connection connected to the PC or it stops working. so its not about wether the game is in online or offline mode but that even in offline mode the game shuts down if its not seeing an internet connection.

my own thoughts on this is I bet its related to the games online saves feature somehow

Run the DbgView app found in my UIs mod \data\Applications\DbgView. Fire up the game in offline mode. Look at the entries the game is spewing out. Even though it's in offline mode you'll see entries like:

OSIPing: xxxxxxxx

So yes the game is still communicating with home even in offline mode.

:shifty:

Concerning offline00.JPG (2 of 2), could it be a windows firewall problem not a Uplay offline or online issue. Perhaps the computer still sees Hunter 5 entries or associated file names blocked even if the firewall is disabled? Have you gone into the firewall properties in the control panel? Look for programs entries? Silent Hunter 5 entries should be removed, possibly shutdown and restart to clear registry entries?

So you were trying to load online savegames with the internet connection switched off :06:
This is why in my checklist I specifically said run the game in online mode first, this saves a local copy of his most recent cloud saves to his drive, thereafter running the game in offline mode he has access to all his saves. I also suggested he ensures he has the most recent version of uplay, the version shipped on the disk was provided before they added an offline mode. While you would assume it would auto update, my checklist was done in the order it was so as to minimize the chances of anything going awry. I will guarantee he responded without even trying as I suggested, had he done, he would have no problem running the game now.

His copy of the game is no different to anyone else, suggesting as much is simply asinine.

So you were trying to load online savegames with the internet connection switched off :06:

Trying to just play the game itself, because I do not always have Inet connection available...So since I do not, the game sits some place on the back burner 99% of the time. Once in awhile I will play it, if I have the time to be stuck on the internet.

This is were I get confused because when I look in the SH5 folders, I see the save files...

*1 His copy of the game is no different to anyone else, suggesting as much is simply asinine.
*1 100% redundant because this is all been coverd before...

I did down loaded the launcher you requested, I thought when it list SH5 as one of my games it was a short cut for install. I had the disk in. It ended up installing from the uplay server. So now I have the collectors edition. so it must be useing the code number for the game stored in the server.

Anyway.....

You can say what ever your little hart desires, get mad call me names and make a fool out of me all you want..

But the game logs says..

which is asinine to LOOK at this log file and tell me....
"His copy of the game is no different to anyone else, suggesting as much is simply asinine."

So what your saying is, that if your disconnected from the internet you can not play eaither...Because I take the Game log file as fact. Regardless what you say. The only thing on your list that was new was downloading the installer.

How ever there is a difference in the DVD version I got and this download version. The download version plays smoother and better, were the DVD lagged once in a while stall. How ever even the download version stops playing too, Could it be I need to start the new game connected to the inet and save it first, then exit everything then disconnected and go into the game?

Because this I do know, the "His copy of the game is no different to anyone else" means "Zero", "Null", "0" to me because MY game logs show FROM THE GAME ITSELF, the game was aborted because no Inet connection..The game LOGS stands firm....

You can say what ever your little hart desires, get mad call me names and make a fool out of me all you want...
You are the one who has been doing all of the "getting mad" and calling people names. Your opening statement here, "You can say what ever your little h(e)art desires", is indicative of this continuing attitude. Despite what you may think, no one here is trying to make you look foolish. People do want to help. The fact is that most people do play the game offline with no trouble, which at first glance would indicate that the problem is somewhere at your end. On the other hand if what you say about unplugging the computer's online connection is true then maybe they haven't tried that.

You could be right, or it may be something else. To them I would say at this point they should disconnect from the web and see if that replicates your problem. To you I suggest calming down and stop taking everything as a personal attack. This is one of the best communities on the web, and the absolute best where naval simulations are concerned. They really are only trying to help. You would to well to respond in that spirit.

Never had problems loading local savegames with the internet connection unplugged. I haven't ever tried doing the same with a game which was previously saved with the U-play option "Enable Cloud Save..." though.

Exactly :yep:

@ Kessner

this is an overally relaxed community. Many of its members regard each others as friends, and they are interacting in a polite way without need by moderators to remind them of the basic netiquette rules.
Personally I don't mind about your attitude (though, with all the due respect, I find it rather funny), but persisting in it won't help you getting new friends here :03:

So the game has to have a internet connection regardless? Because that is what the log looks like to me...

whoever passed by first and if it were the axis ships you never knew if you would be passed by, shot, or picked up and sent to a prison camp, at least with the allies you knew you were just going to be sent to a camp

Well now that would depend on which Axis nation would be doing the passing buy. And just becouse they were Allied didnt always mean that they would be nice and play well with others either.

im no expert but from what I have picked up by seeing you guys work through this (if I understand correctly whats going on) is maybe the game still checks for and has to see the internet connection even thou its not sending or receiving data by it. if this is the case then in truth there is no drm but the game still needs an internet connection.

what did ubisoft say about this issue when you explained the problem to them? did they have anything to explain it?

Trevally.

The game can load and run without an internet connection as I have showed in the images before:yep:

@ kessner

try starting a new game with the "Enable Cloud Save" option (U-play splash screen) unchecked, and the interned connection switched off. Games which you had previously saved on the Ubisoft server might not work without internet, even though you see them on your HD. :hmmm:

Thanks Mr Quatro, you gave me a clue where Kessner's problem may be. Settings icon is in the top right corner of the Uplay program. Follow the attachment pics to see if that solves problems with Uplay, internet connection and proxy issue.
