SH3 Patches/Mods advice

Gday, Used to play sh2 back in the day. building game pc just for silent hunter and was wondering ( cos its so confusing) which mods/ patches i really need for sh3 and maybe even sh4. will be d/l'ing games from ubisoft when pc ready (unless otherwise advised) all help appreciated!

any recent release of SH3 will already be patched to the latest version 1.4b so you wont have to worry about that.

as for mods, most will recommend the grey wolves mod GWX 3.0 which comes with several internal optional mods.

additionally, Jonesoft Generic Mod Enabler, Floating debris and lifeboats, there is a good interior mod and a few environmental mods

if you go and take a look at the sticky threads in the SH3 Mods workshop forum you are bound to find some interesting stuff.
