throwing away torpedoes!

Dear experts,
i loved SH4, i would love SH5 if only i could hit something! first of all, my maths is extremely poor, which is why when they made easy AOB for SH4, and all i had to do was aim and the rest was figured out for me, i enjoyed it, as i said, im not uber clever like most of the guys in here lol, i amm using the new UI mod, i understand if u want me to sod off to their forum topic, i have had a look through youtube, they are drawing lines and working out degrees etc, is there a muppets version for a muppet like me?!

basically my problem is, i lock up the target, i then use the identify target, then the solution button, but when i fire the torpedo it just misses every time, shooting every torp at one ship! aint hitting any lol
so frustrating.

Are you using manual aiming?

i checked on the options and no its turned off

Then line up the 1, 2 ,3 with your enemies ones, the 1 will have to be over the enemies 1, not 1 over 2 or 3, But if a ship is changing course or speed you will have to adjust to this.

I will restart the campaign and un install the dark wraith ui tdc so i can practice with the 123 system. Unless someone has some help with the MOD.

for an update, i tried the historic mission, torpedo tutorial, loaded up, frieghter 5 cliks away, went to attack periscope, locked onto the target with space, pressed never mind, unlocked and locked again, turned on TDC, unlocked, locked again, pressed identify target and solution buttons, unlocked, aimed where i wanted the torp, fired and it missed, the ship went past no torp hit.
i know i must be doing something wrong lol.

you helped me enormously, i followed the idea ( as per your link) of selecting the target, identify, unlocking, aiming and firing and it worked, i know its cheating, i know its not how the rest do it but many thanks, i am in awe of the kindness of the members of this forum in helping me enjoy the game, thanks guys
