Shame. I was hoping they'd at least bring out something about the Aldmeri Dominion.

Hopefully this doesn't mean that they are looking at accelerated releases...
I have a feeling ES:O is going to be a flop.

Bethesda is starting work on a new title. This is normal, with every game dev. Support for current and older titles being scaled back. Unless you have millions of subscribers and a huge team at your disposal, like Blizzard with WoW, then you can continue to push out content updates for current and older titles, whilst funneling other dev members to the new project.
For the last year and a half we’ve been working on new content for Skyrim; from the game updates, Creation Kit, Steam Workshop, Kinect support, to DLCs. Parts of our team have also been in pre-production on our next major project, and that game is at the point where it requires the studio’s full attention to make it our biggest and best work yet.
Minor updates still ok for Skyrim:
Even though we’re moving on, we’ll still have minor updates to Skyrim as needed. We’ve invested so much of ourselves into Skyrim and will never truly say goodbye to it.
Download content is a lot of work for game devs.
Months upon months of testing, bug fixes, time-consuming.
Minor support like patching out bugs less so.

Happened sooner than I expected. Good news for me, though: now I can finally wait for a sale to buy the game and all the DLCs in one pack and write another Lalli AAR eventually.

I read it in the Steam news two days ago. That part of staff still sticking to Skyrim was completely moved to the next big project of Bethesda.
Why not, it has been one and a half year, almost.
