Radar Removal

Can you remove the FuMo-29 radar when it is installed by default in the upgrade screen?

I'm pretty sure with the equipment upgrades fix by the beast, you get an option to remove your default equipment.
I always use the option to remove my deck gun later on in the game.
And the radar has an Empty slot "Upgrade"
And why would you want to get rid of that?

Becouse the radar's limited range makes it useless unless the weather is crappy. I only turn it on in bad weather mainly as a safety feature to keep form running into another ship. It also covers up my turm emblem.

Their is a mod that puts emblem on the side, but I forgot which it is, because I don't use emblems.

I know that. I use them. There are several. It still partially covers them up. Gee, thanks for that insight.
