Given the strength and stability of the Yuan, there is no logical reason why an Australian business should trade with a Chinese one in U.S. dollars. It looks like common sense to me.

Personally, i think due to the way our government is handling itself, it's only a matter of time before the US dollar is no longer the worlds currency, and it would be no big surprise if everyone starts using the Yuan. China is (i think) the worlds largest producer of consumer goods. They are the next leading super power in the making - that too, being only a matter of time. The sad thing is, we gave it to them.

Once again I have a tendancy to agree with you.

It gets much worse Yubba. We are also looking for closer military ties with China, with the blessing of the US: http://www.smh.com.au/opinion/political-news/pm-on-military-cooperation-mission-20130404-2h9ui.html

Not that there's a conspiracy going on.:O:

Even I know our money is worthless, and the Aussies figured it out too,,our free lunch is over,, as being the worlds reserve currency,,16 trillion in debt. I don't recall saying any thing about an anti american dollar conspiracy ,, the conspiracy is why are you hearing this from me....You think the network news is going to say anything about this and how will the market react. All this smoke and mirrors,,, weeks and months of booo hooo those evil guns,, not one word, on how to improve our economy and reduce the debt,, we are sitting on billions of barrels of oil which will be stolen right out from under our feet. What do you think Hitler did back in the late 30s...?????

Its a relevant economic news, so the mocking is not justified. The Aussies are a bit late, though, other nations since longer time have moved to reduce the importance of US dollars in trading, and to reduce their reserves they hold in US dollars. BRISC, obviously.

It illustrates a loss in trust in the stability and trustworthiness of the dollar and Washington's flooding of the market with more and more increasingly cheap paper money and ever-increasing debts. They want to reduce their vulnerability to the con sequences of a fiscal meltdown in the US (and the EU as well: nations also reduce the amount of reserves they hold in Euro. The new currency of interest are that of the BRISC states).

A loss in importance of the dollar also translates into a loss of influence of the US in the regions where the dollar has lost meaning. And if OPEC for example would indeed stop to make oil deals in dollar, this indeed would hurt US finances tremendously, possibly causing a major crisis.

What they try to do is getting away from the rolling snowball.

There are far more effective and hurting ways to fight against the USA (if your are hostile to them) than military wars. Cyberwar, and especially the currency. Or rejecting the flood of US bonds.

Hello. He's a politician so I expect nothing less. Haven't seen him sign an order requiring restrictions on the Jews yet though, so there are some differences.:O:

Yeah about that, the problem is that currencies have collapsed before, and what you describe isnt usually the most common example of the true outcome.

Sure,As it stands right now, the US dollar is on course for its demise, (given the spiralling debt and Ben Benanke's shenanegans), but the U.S is not alone there, most of the worlds fiat currencies are seeing a devaluation at present and most western countries have a sizable soveriegn debt that they will probably never pay back in full.

If the dollar / debt machine implodes, I would expect some short term chaos followed by some longer term hardship, but its unlikely to be the forseable end of civilisation and food production/distribution, thats a very melodramatic and unrealistic prediction. In practice most people tend to try to cling on to what ever sense of normality and security they can in a time of crisis -rather than just go all out crazy and start murdering for cough drops.
All these 'end of the world when the currency tanks' thories is do is take in to account the minority who may turn into aggressors, they dont take in to account the vast majority who will not, (even if they are hungry) People can, do and will continue to function without money, and it doesn't make them hostile by default.

Even without the Dolllar, the U.S is still a rather wealthy nation in terms of its infastucture, resources and assets, things that cannot be wiped out by a failed monetary system. By the way, since most money is electronic nowadays, you know they can roll out a new currency in a couple of days... right?

I some what agree with your gloomy dollar/debt/fiat currency predictions Yubba, but if you expecting a zombie apolcalypes over it, i think you are going to be very dissapointed.
