In a surprising announcement, the U.S. Navy has informed New York City officials that federal budget cuts may keep aircraft carriers and destroyers from sailing into New York Harbor for Fleet Week.

It's hard to believe all this is from just a 2% federal budget cut.

Blue Angles cancelled at Annapolis Airshow. 2% of a trillion dollars is a lot of dollars. I don't know the actual figures that were cut but as much as we scream to cut or stop raising taxes and the government responds we need to realize some things involving the military will not be done anymore. Next Superbowl flyby will be performed by three well trained parrots. :up:

Guys, in order for us to keep borrowing hundreds of billions from China to send to Jordon, Pakistan, build more schools and roads in Afganistan, etc., we've got to cut the budget.

AVG is right that 2% of a Trillion dollars is a lot of money but it is still just 2%. $20 billion. If we can't trim a mere 2% of what we all agree is a severely bloated federal budget we are sunk.

The problem is getting the government to cut what will hurt the American people the least. The way it seems they are cutting what will hurt us the most to try and get us to accept not cutting anything at all.
