Depth Under Keel

Hi Guys
I notice from some of the pics on the forums that not all of you have the DEPTH UNDER KEEL icon which sits underneath the CRASH DIVE icon! Somebody said that this is only available as a mod. My install was from a download last December and I have this icon as standard. The only problem I find sometimes is when I first load a save or continue a campaign after the synchronising and click the DEPTH UNDER KEEL icon all I get is the ping and no depth message. I either have to go back to the bunker screen and try again or completely exit windows and start Uplay again. Annoying!

I never TC above 256 and the depth under keel has always worked . Playing the current campaign for over 3 months with over 150 saves . No problems so far .

I get my depth under keel icon, and it works perfectly all the time, and I use tc 1512x all the time.

V13, how do you get your TC to run at that speed without CTDs? Like Sober I only run at a max of 256. If I go any higher my SH5 crashes if I'm near my home port or land.

In order to make sure I don't have to restart from a last Save that's far away from port I always do a Save before I head in. Same before for anything important that will be happening... like attacking a convoy, and after too. This is just to be safe. Only because if you have to redo and attack what you had before the crash might not appear again. Example: I was attacking a Capital Ship and SH5 crashed (no save before). When I tried to restart and get back to the attack there was no Capital Ship to be seen anywhere. Same has happened attacking a convoy or Task Force.

I have a very powerful computer (By 2010 standards), and I recently replaced my old SSD (Because it failed) With two raiding ones, and now I seem to be running with astonishing performance.

I have not CTD'ed in Sh5 this install, except the time I created a mission in Mission editor where I forgot to place a player unit, and when I loaded it, it crashed :D

I'm running Windows 7 Professional and my Processor is an AMD Phenom II X6 (6 cores and 6 hyper threads) 1100t, running at 3.4 GHz, my GPU is a Nvidia GTX 570 clocked at 750 MHz with 1 GB of dedicated memory and 32 GB of DDR3 Ram.

Great processor! I have the same but it's watercooled and OC'd to 4.1GHz. Stable as can be. I only have 8GB RAM but still no CTDs or problems with depth under keel.

Video card is GTX690 and game is as smooth as butter with all settings at max and at 2560 X 1600 in full screen mode :salute:

I have a water cooler aswell, I just don't overclock it during the hot months, or it begins to raise the electricity bill keeping the room cool.:smug:

I have the same problem all of the sudden - no depth under keel.

had same issue after ubisoft update failure last month. lost return to course icon and compass too. reinstalled game and properly completed update to restore all icons. it don't mean a thing if it aint got that ping!

I used to get the same issue, however i don't know if this is a coincidence but when i installed the German U-Boat Crew Language Pack i never had this issue again :hmmm:

naturally! all navies function better when speaking the same language. The Danes, Norwegians and Swedes all spoke old Norse and kicked stern for three hundred odd years in a stealth craft not unlike a uboat in shape and function. Nothing really changes. :arrgh!:

If you have Tdw Ui you can ask about the officer icons for it.
