I just played it, as former netKar customer my old registry number qualifies me for playing the downloadable demo. The dmeo comes with oine short track and one car.
Some impressions: graphics are fine, with realistic colour palettes and nice detail of the environment, the overall impression of the "world" is very believable and life-like. The car is a Lotus Elise, and it simply is the best-rendered car I have ever seen in any computer racing simulation, ever. Jawdropping, really! Handling: it is fun, really fun to drive with this, I beieve there is plenty of realism, but they have not forgotten to make sure that realsim without fun is something that most people liekly will not play. The car in the demo is a street5 car and no hightuned racing machine, so driving was well-behaved and good-mannered, with nice slides where I got the timing right. Sound is standard, nothing that I would explicitly point out, though.
I had low shadows, 4x AA and 4xAF, and had frames almost glued to the 60 mark with my i5@3.2 GHZ, 8 GB, Win7, GTX460SE and a relatively old driver.
Good news is that they built this consequently with modding in mind, the architecture is said to support it really well, both tracks and cars.
Some other screenshots of cars, like BMWs and Ferraris, look extremely good, too.
If you are into sim-racing, this title really should be mentioned on your watch-out-for-list. I am not certain whether I will buy it when they release it, since my interest in sim racing in general has decreased quite much. But if I feel like wanting to do it again, this title will get my highest attention. Superb looks, fine handling and feeling, and fantastically looking cars and visuals. The only thing left that maybe could spoil is, remains to be seen: the quality of the other car's AI.
Oh, and nice replay function with very beoievable TV-llike camera angles.
