New on this game ,bougth it several weeks ago SH4 VERSION 1.3 .I like the game very much so far,but something strange happens . I played a career and this went very well, no torpedos and ammo left ,so went to my home harbour.halfway I met a heavy guarded convoy and to prevent being detected I dived deep "passing thermo layer and silent running. All of a sudden I got damages and everything was destroyed.Sunk to the deep.No attacks where maid by the Japanese destroyers. Is it a bug in the game?

Hi, and welcome! First off, if it is at all possible, get yourself the 1.5 version of the game. This can be done by either a separate D/L for about $10.00 USD, or purchase the SH4 Gold DVD which is the game already patched to 1.5 on DVD. This would be the ideal way to go. Early versions of the game were very buggy, and most of the mods especially the "mega" mods, ie: RFB, TMO, ect.. in their latest editions are oriented around version 1.5. That said, what sub were you playing in at the time? Could be you exceeded the safe dive limit of that class of sub:hmmm:

Did you at least patch to 1.4, that's free, but 1.5 is much better, so I would buy it. Most mods now work off 1.5.

I agree with Fish, you probably went below crush depth, although it could've been a mine depending on where you were.

Thanks,Fish40, this explain a lot, because more unexplained things happened in the game.And also the manual and read me didn't work.Seems that I must get the 1.5 version then.Or the gold,even better.I have to go to Amazon.com,because the shops here in Ireland hardly supply PC games.Greetings,Cees.

Get 1.5, you'll love it, then DL a good mod.

1.3 is more bugged than a swamp on a hot summers day.
