This photo was taking at RAF Binbrook in 1987, my friend was visiting with some air cadets and they came across a Lightning T-55, XS456, with 'Soviet' markings. It was done by the paint bay, whether for a laugh or told to I don't know, but when Group Captain John Spencer saw it he ordered it to be immediately removed.
My friend took a photo, as far as I know it's the only one in existence of this aircraft painted like this.
Another friend had a copy printed and put it on Facebook the other day. Yay :woot: a digital copy to share.
