16:9 AR displaying stretched image

Hi there, I haven´t played SH4 in a while and i wanted to check how it looks on my new 1920x1080 resolution 16:9 AR monitor. Although I have selected the aproppriate options in the graphics settings, the game still displays a stretched picture. Is this normal? Any idea about what can I do to view normal 16:9 aspect ratio?

EDIT: solved! I simply had to restart the game

The 16:9 distorts the image making it difficult to use manual targeting. In the downloads section, there is Optical Targeting Correction (OTC) mod. It corrects this and adds some other features.

set your monitor display to the 1920x1080 setting but use 1280x798 (or something like that) for the games setting

bottom line is you don't want to use your monitor display resolution setting as your in game resolution setting, watch the gauges to tell if they are good circles to tell you its set correctly
