So...let's hear it. :salute:

What are the things you want to do before you " :dead: "?

I've got a few. This isn't the full list. There are many more that I can't remember off the top of my head. I haven't ever put this to writing. Obviously, some of these things have better chances of happening than others. I doubt I'll actually get those autographs...but hey...it might happen.

Here's what I've assembled of mine. I'd like to see what you guys want to do before you die. :)

Skydive
Visit Chernobyl
Get my Pilot's License
Teach my future kids baseball
Get an autograph from Eric Church
Get an autograph from Liam Neeson
Visit Europe
Visit other Russian cities
Become successful at whatever career I choose
Visit at least 5 museum ships/submarines

Ok I'll bite :hmmm:

Go out on a date
Undertake at least one patrol on a submarine
Visit U-995
Develop a video game
Get cast as the Doctor

nothing.
i have seen all the upsides of life, and having fun will not advance my knowledge.
and even if it did, and i would become a wise man, i would still die and humanity would still be stupid.

so... nothing.
what my experience lacks iws sickness and pain, being poor and fear of death.

guess i am ready to.. "kick it".

Already done everything. Bucket list is in the bucket.

I am either very content or very shallow, but in my 50s, I don't really have a bucket list.

I have had a great life, full of strife and joy. I have done wonderful things and experienced terrible things. I fully expect to do more wonderful things and will probably experience more terrible things.

But I don't have any specific items in a bucket list. Maybe I should. I just plan on living and trying to do goodly things in my small way.

I do know that there were some things that I wanted to do when I was younger that just don't seem as important any more.

Done pretty much everything I've wanted as I've gone through life.

I can only think of two:

1) Hopefully be visiting Alaska this year.
2) Meet Neal and some other great friends again at some future SubSim Meet.

See Norway
See Germany
See Italy
See Bora Bora
Make $100,000 a year
Plant a garden
Learn to golf

That's it for now. Some are easy, some are near-term, and some are longer term goals.

Win a Lottery and help keep SubSim going even longer.

Repaint the GTO back to it's original color.

Visit Australia and New Zealand.

Find a metorite from Mars.

All of which will probably never happen. But it's nice to dream. ;)

One of the main points of this thread...

Everyone has dreams... :yeah: I'd sure as heck love to be the Captain of a WW2 American Fleet Boat...

That won't happen though... :D

Not likely to happen...but...

Do a paradrop from a C-47
Travel the world - visiting, Egypt, Russia, Germany, France, Italy, America, Japan, Australia and Kenya.
Walk on the surface of Mars or at the very least witness someone do it
Fly, not as a pilot or if I do then make it the last item on the list... :O:

That is not an Akula that you posted. :hmmm: I don't know what that is. Looks like a messed up Typhoon

Tchocky

What we call the Typhoon was developed as Project 941, codenamed "Akula" by the Soviet Navy.

What we call the Akula was developed as Project 971, codenamed "Pike" by the Soviet Navy.

Simples :O:

So we're both right! :D

I'm a NATO man myself... :O:

Either way...these are cooler than biologic sharks. I'd rather see a Project 971 Akula "Pike" in it's natural habitat. :O:

So what's this rumo(u)r you're going to Alaska?:hmm2:

Young buna came home this morning (Aruba > Miami > Heathrow > Newcastle) he put the info he received from the Seattle office on a memory stick because it is in pdf format and of considerable size (he reckons).

His baggage went awol in transit at Miami but is being flown over as I type this and is expected some time tomorrow.

As far as he can remember the ship leaves Vancouver on 1st June which is the first day of the wife and my vacation/holiday (1st - 16th) so it may not be possible to join the ship in time.

He informs us he has got other ships schedules for the Caribbean and Asia areas on the pdf as well so we might get this so far elusive freebie yet.

Failing that we will go to Oludeniz in Turkey because that is one country we've yet to visit and the Blue Lagoon is one of the most beautiful sites we reckon.

Whoa, if you somehow make it to Seattle?:hmmm: I'd drive up for that!:Kaleun_Cheers:

That is where his company head office is (Holland America Lines) but honestly Jason, it's beginning to look like his mam and I will be going on a cruise not so far away...it is physically impossible to get to Vancouver in one day I'm beginning to reckon.

I wish I was able to go to a Subsim Meet.

With my age, I probably wouldn't fit in though. Meeting you guys would be cool. I've read all about the other meets and it sounds like a lot of fun. :)

It just isn't possible for me to go to one.... :wah:

I'm sure there'll be a meet when you're older, until then you'll have to enjoy our company online instead.

A bucket list from me?

Visit New Zealand. Travel on the Rocky Mountaineer (so visit Canada then!). Get back into skydiving, and travel the world's dropzones, do a HALO jump. Go trekking in Oman's Dhofar region. Cycle LEJOGLE. Learn to fly. Attend a SS meet. Visit some great geographical features throughout the world.

There are many others, I think the first one needs to be with the lottery to facilitate the others. :-?
