69 years after the Lanc went down over Germnay, locals found (after some digging) the wreckage of the Lanc along with bone fragments that belonged to the crew. What the RAF didn't know until recently was that after the intial crash, German soldiers buried 2 of the crewman.

At least after all these years, their remains can be sent to their families.

May they rest in peace.

“It doesn’t make a difference if they are German or British,” he told The Telegraph (http://www.telegraph.co.uk/history/world-war-two/9557610/Bodies-of-five-British-airmen-from-Second-World-War-found.html). “They were young men who fought and died for their country for which they deserve a proper burial in a cemetery.”

May they rest in peace.
