With much inspiration from Siara's "VIIC my way" here are my first WIP pics of my boat. This is definitely my most involved model ever; I've been working on it on and off for nearly 2 years.
I know I've messed up some of the details so far. For example the pressure hull is about 1/4 inch too low in the hull (which will cause problems when I install the galley hatch and torpedo loading set) and somehow I managed to install the limber holes under the conning tower on the wrong sides of the hull! I filled in the correct holes for U-552, but made the mistake of not pre-marking them, and made the oldest error in the modelling book: gluing before checking!
I've also taken some liberties such as the stern torpedo tube hatch, but I am also teaching myself how to solder.
Thanks,
Dave
