I have been working on documents for the members of my campaign. These are Kriegsmarine documents copied from the real ones that I has seen while living in the Washington D.C. area for the last 10 years.

These are made with the names of the U-boat Commanders and the dates the items were won, in both down load or printed for framing. Each document is in the original 8"x5.75" (20.32cm x 14.605cm)

Let me know what you think of them?

Well done!

Some minor suggestions - for grammatical correctness:

First document:

Im Namen des Führers...

"dem" is doubled - keep the printed one.

http://www.abload.de/img/urkunde-ek-2k2kc7.jpg

Second document:

"Aufgrund" - one word (today "Auf Grund" is possible, but it wasn't in the `40ies) - "due to/on the basis of"

"Ermächtigung" - one word - "authorization"

Fourth document:

http://www.abload.de/img/ritterkreuz-04ncysh.jpg

"das Ritterkreuz des Eiserenen Kreuzes"

Fifth document:

"das Eichenlaub zum Ritterkreuz des Eisernen Kreuzes"

The real one - not only the "provisonal ownership certificate" (vorläufiges Besitzzeugnis)

First of all thank you all for your comments.

This was the feedback that I needed. It took me a long time to match letters to fonts and borders. Then trying to get the spelling right, like in some "l,s, and f" look almost the same, so getting the spelling right was not so easy.

Once again thanks for the comments, I will make the changes, and repost the changes.

In the Document that I have it shows "Aufgrund", as "Auf Grund" in 1940. All other changes have been made.

Do you want game dates, or actual dates for Englebert Endrass?

Indeed "Auf Grund" is obviously the used form those days.

I stand corrected.

After some research I think it changed several times over the years.
Our last - famous - orthography reform allows both now - with a recommendation on "aufgrund".

:woot:

Edit: as a redemption two Kriegsmarine "Dienstsiegel" (even circular)

thanks again for the corrections. :yeah:

In the last document I posted, although it showed the "Auf Grund" I did notice it shows the wrong rank for Dornitz...:hmmm:
It show him as "Konteradmiral" on 15. Novermber 1940. He was promoted to "Vizedadmiral" on 01. September 1940.:hmm2:

Thanks for the two stamps, I see that I need to make mine more rounded. I was trying to make Dontiz's stamp that he used, like in the last document I posted.

I will work on that...

There are no clear images of one, so it took me hours to try to read it and duplicate it.

These are so good. What did you use to create them? I don't want to rip off and steal your great work, but it would be great to get blank templates of these so I could run certificates off for my DID campaign commanders ... I even have a '40s typewriter (not German unfortunately), which I could use to type in the names ...

Just finished the real documents to the knights cross and the knights cross with oak leaves, to go with the "provisonal ownership certificate" (vorläufiges Besitzzeugnis).

If you have an old typewriter then you probably have some older books lying around right? You can make get that older "brown paper" look by using old paper from the "notes" section of books from the 1970's or earlier. Will be an older style of paper and it will already have aged.

Or take some new paper with a document type look(like stock paper for diplomas/buisness cards) and throw it in the oven at @250 for about 1-2 minutes at most.

I can't help you with the typewrite keys but if you really want to go all out.... Go to some estate sales. Alot of older German families live in my area in the US. Last time I was at an estate sale I could have gotten the German keys for the typewriter. Plus the old books obviously. I actually almost thought they were german naval engineering books(Maybe for subs?) when I was digging around at this guys house. Nope, just normal 1950's/1970's boat building stuff from his company's trade shows.

Those weren't the extremley rare droids I was looking for....

Or, if you have a program that allows you to insert text, download German fonts (there are several available) and put them in your Windows font folder. Most programs use the Windows fonts, so they will be available then.

Do you want these in .pdf format so you can print them, or just .jpg for your computer.

The .pdf will be printer friendly, you just need to print them on parchment paper, and then cut them on the cut lines.
