Game specs

I seem to always be asking for help....and this time is no exception.

I've installed sh3 on a laptop that has the following specs
Win 7
Dual core 2.3 gb cpu
4 gb ram
Nvidia GT 240m graphic card

I've patched the sh3.exe to use more than 2gb ram and i've upgraded the graphic card to the latest drivers but it doesn't seem to help........as soon as i get into a convoy the game will crash...It's fine taking out single ships but as soon as it gets graphic intensive it goes down.

I've also tried running it through game booster V3 but it still crashed.

Have i just got to accept that i have to stear clear of convoys or is there something else i can try?...The most exciting part of the game is the cat and mouse of convoy hunting so it'll be a blow to accept i've got to give that up.

I know my graphic card isn't that cracky and i've no option to upgrade it but do you all think that's the problem?

I've tried tinkering with the Nvidia's interface but i dare'nt do to much as i'm not to sure what i'm doing in there.
