They're not stupid, they may sunbathe and listen to music in 'tactical areas' but that doesn't mean they were on stag at the time.

Tactical area here is, I think, given to imply a guard or observation post, or any place where they may encounter the enemy at any moment, but in reality it could be almost anywhere in theatre - including behind a pile of HESCO bastion, quite possibly one of the safest places on earth!

Though I can believe the thong wearing. This might get misconstrued in Europe though. Thongs down under are Flip Flops in the cold countries. Don't go getting ideas that we all run around in G strings all day.
