sooo...I am wondering if this is just me or not...seems my soundguy can never tell me the range to a target as the option is just always seeming to be greyed out...also whenever I say follow nearest warship contact or sound contact he tells me that there is no sound buttttt....if I ask for nearest sound contact report he tells me that there is a warship bearing such and such....is there a way to fix my clearly mentally deficient soundguy or should I just stuff him into the first torpedo tube I have available and launch him out to sea?

Just take his seat, and you'll be able to know the range (icon non greyed).
Also, give him more points as soon as possible! :yep:

and we have entered into a generation of sub simmers where the moniker "sound guy" is considered normal and ok. :haha:

Well, it's his game, and I imagine he can call him whatever he wants. Your approval is not required.

@Niteowl

I assume that you are playing the stock game. Unfortunately, most of the crewmen are terribly inefficient at their jobs, espeically in the beginning. Fifi, however, is correct in that you need to develop that crewman as quickly as possible, as he will be very important in surviving attacks.

And why not? We already had people talking about how tough it is to sink a "Medium Cargo". The games teach young unknowing players bad habits. It can't be helped. :dead:
