hey guys,
i'm pretty new to to SH5 and such ... however much like any sim player i love realism...and so i got the real navigation mod along with a few others to make it as realistic as possible.. however i was following one of the tutorials online for real navigation... one huge thing i noticed... he could manually set his bearing... which i cannot... that compass thats supposed to be there at the bottom of the screen to make my heading isnt there...instead i got a lil black empy rectangle shaped box lol...so i tried using the periscope and set heading that way...always wind up going the wrong way :/ so my question would be is there anyway to get that compass/dial to appear/work cause it seems i cant use the real navigation without it :/ many thanks in advance

Click on the red square in the heading bar to bring up the compass .

you also can use voice commands :)
That's what I do for pretty much everything.. When I actually get to play

I'm also guessing you have a mod conflict or something is not in the correct order. Am I right that you can't see anything in the black bar along the bottom of the screen where the heading tape should be? If so you have a conflict in your mod order somewhere. Pressing C is a fine workaround because that's all I use to enter my heading but the missing graphics is indicative of some larger problem.

This would be a sign of something overwriting some of my DDS files :yep:

Ensure you are patched to v1.2 of the game. Redownload my UIs mod. It appears yours is corrupted somehow if you are missing the compass heading bar with that mod list.

ok ill give that a shot man many thanks...hopefully that helps out a bit ...be nice to have that back... :) ... so im assuming that i have things in the right order? also it seems the last few downloads ive done have been currupted...like dynamic environment and open horizons 2 full.... so prob wouldnt surprise me if ur mod got currupted somewhere along the way as well... many thanks for the help wraith...its really greatly appreciated

Your 'corruption' can also come from what you use to decompress the compressed files. Try using 7zip or ZipGenius (both of which are free on the internet). I use ZipGenius to compress all my files.

hey man, dunno if its me or not...but everything i download with ur name on it comes back currupt for some weird reason :/ dont matter what i use to unzip it with either...tried everything that you listed... but it tells me either the file is broken or its currupt however i can download from sources outside of subsim just fine and they all work...but the majority of what i download from subsim has this issue :/
