HI IM A BIT NEW TO THIS, WITH SH4 I HAVE BEEN SAILING AROUND THE PATROL AREA FOR 5 DAYS NOW, AND STILL IT DOES NOT SAY OBJECTIVE COMPLETE, I READ SOME PREVIOUS POSTS REGARDING THIS AND IT LOOKS LIKE YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO SAIL AROUND THE AREA FOR AT LEAST 48 HOURS, I HAVE BEEN 5 DAYS! COULD ANYONE TELL ME WHERE I AM GOING WRONG.
THANKS
IT MAY OR MAY NOT HAVE TO DO WITH THE POSSIBILITY OF YOU HAVING YOUR SHIFT-KEY STUCK, OR CAPSLOCK-KEY LOCKED.
OTHERWISE,... Ahh, crushed a breadcrumb underneath mine :)
Did you leave the area by any chance in that period? And how close did you keep to the patrol marker?

Welcome aboard Russ. :salute:
Check how hard the bow crashes against the sea.
About your question. In stock, I think you have to stay within 50nm from the center. Some of us just go within the zone, shut off engines, increase time compression and wait.

Mods vary, so check your messages and see the distance allowed and time required. As stated most just sit on the star and TC.

His name is Bear, a legend in these parts and the mascot of the Ubirats.
He jumps off 20ft bridges into the river, chases Bigfoot and bears, but hates owls. He's also a great golf ball fetcher. I write a lot about him in the bilge in GT forum....
He ain't too happly about you saying he has quite a face, not sure what you mean.

Now there is one problem is that I’m the kind of skipper who has something come close (100nms or so) to me I hunt it, but going from Perth up to and through Java sea and South China Sea to the area in the NW Apo East Pass. You meet a lot of opportune and you are very late getting to where they want you to patrol, with little or no “fish”. But I can remember there was a way that you could go into two files and change the time and date so you would get credited for the patrol. Now, as time has gone by, my mind has too and I forgot how…:D

Honestly, you'll get more points for sinking ships than doing patrol areas. As long as you sink ships, you will be promoted. I seldom worry about patrol zones unless it happens to be where I'm going anyway.

:har:, after 4 patrols, with the last one I wipe out a 13 ships, out of 14 ship convoy and still did not achieve one of the mission objectives to do damage to escort vessels (got two out of three destroyers). The I sail, on the smell of fuel in the tanks, into Perth, got a new Porpoise sub, some of the crew were promoted, some medal given, out but none to me..:hmmm:
