"As the saying goes, a new-born puppy knows no fear of a tiger. South Korea's erratic behavior would only herald its final destruction," North Korean diplomat Jon Yong Ryong told the meeting.
Does this guy think he is playing a game of Risk? At all seems to be a game to Ryong.

It's my thought the new Kim in charge over there is just trying to assert his greatness to his subjects. In other words, i think its more saber rattleling, and more brinksmanship (something the DPRK can probably write a best selling book on), in order to assert and establish himself as a great leader, rather then live in the shadow of his father. Once he's established his greatness, and gets what he wants from the UN et all, he'll probably crawl back in his palace and occupy himself with booze and broads.

NK are suffering from a total lack of credibility in the eyes of the world and I believe China can be included.
The next round of financial constraints will probably impact mostly on the civilian population and that is the only thing that bothers me.

He did that when he came to power. He continues the charade. The problem is he is stating things that might just get his arse in a sling.

I agree. However, credibility, IMO, is not obtained by idle threats.

Of that there is no doubt but I'm still hoping the tantrums doesn't escalate into something that triggers military action in the region.

South Korea are erratic. :o
I wonder when the DPRK will resort to Soylent Green, if it hasn't already. Population control and food products in one tasty package, and it can be sold as doing your bit to fight against the Imperialists!
The average DPRK citizen wouldn't know the difference... :nope:

If they do, they WILL loose. I think they know this as well as we do. Sure they have a large army, but it's far behind the curve in terms of modern technology.
On a side note, if they were to start a war via offensive action, id expect it in winter when the rice fields are frozen over. Makes it easier to roll tanks through. Last I checked, the ROK has only 3 major expressways, and they all run north to south. That would create quite the bottleneck.

Well let us hope they have the technology to create 'anti-freeze' for their armour :)

Go ahead, start lobbing nukes on the southern section of the peninsula. They will be shocked to discover that it's the last thing they will ever do.
DPRK who? Oh you're talking about that smoking crater with the radioactive warning signs all around it.:stare:

Seriously. In an odd way, i wish they'd just finish the war already so we can stop sending our troops there. The Korean people don't want us there, nobody i ever spoke to wanted to be there, I sure as hell didn't want to be there - NOBODY want's us there. Crap or get off the pot indeed! Frankly, i wish we'd pull out troops out NOW, and let the Koreans sort out their own problems. It is there country, and the DMZ and clash of ideologies should be there problem, not ours.

Exactly what I was getting at. I don't want to see us with a military presence in every land we've ever fought a war in indefinitely. If there's a credible military threat to the U.S., that's one thing. If it's a hapless boy-ruler waving his wang in a pitiful attempt at military legitimacy and nothing else, then bring our guys home.
If they do, they WILL loose. I think they know this as well as we do.
I'm sure it's obvious to anyone with a little military training. The real question though is whether dear leader knows it and would his military would dare to tell him if he doesn't.
After all many of hitlers generals thought he was screwing up as well but few dared to tell him that to his face, which is not surprising seeing as how disagreeing with der fuherer could earn one a trip before a firing squad or worse.

I can't make my mind up if the Dear Leader has the authority his father had or if the military are propping him up :hmm2:
