View Full Version : Problem With Quotes

I had this problem once before, but then it went away. Now it's back with a vengeance.
Sometimes when I quote somebody to make a response, it divides my quote in two, adding an extra "quote/unquote" tag. No matter how many times I go back and fix it, it still shows up that way. It's getting very frustrating, especially since I keep trying over and over.
Here is an example:

Hmm... I wonder if it has anything to do with the text formatting? If you look at the quotes that are "split," the text in one part is a different font and color than in the other part. Somehow part of what you are quoting has different tags for the text color/font, but is it splitting the quote because of that, or is that happening because the the quote is being split? :hmmm:
Is this only happening when you quote someone whose post does not use the default text size/font/color?

Could be. I went back and created a new quote, retyping his lines myself, and then deleted the original, and it still did it. It happened to me in another post yesterday, and retyping it all myself fixed the problem. Not this time.
I don't know what's going on.

:hmmm:
Steve, could you go back to that post you linked, hit edit and switch off the
automatic formatting (the little A/A button, top right) and post a screenshot of the
unformatted text? Might help in figuring out what went wrong. :hmmm:
