Unfortunately, if I oversee it correctly, I think I have to ring the JAVA ALARM! again.
It's a pain, I know. I would love once or twice a year to play a nice match of Catan maybe, on a lonely rainy evening, but I cannot. It's not worth to compromise my system again with a security breach wide as the gate in the city wall.

Sky, maybe you should buy a cheap PC just for all things Java! I understand your reasoning behind it, but you must surely be missing out on half the www! :o

For me you nailed it - I don't care for "games" that center on violence for violence sake. To each their own.

Not that I am aware of. It's very rare that I run into something that does not work due to me not having Java. Cannot recall when was the last time, and what it was. Must be a long time, cannot have been something important.
Maybe it would be different if I were using a tablet, some other WiFi playtoy, or a smartphone. But I don't, and do not wish to, for I have no use for these things. I have a stinking normal Samsung E1150, it looks nice, it does what it should (giving me the option to call somebody when I am not at home), and that is all. It's switched on maybe twice or three times per month, for very few hours.

Every video game falls into that category.
Anyway, the game seems a little rough around the edges, but interesting. A turn-based fighting game, as I understand it?

No. TBH, I hate fighting games. There's no point to them and they are the silliest things ever.

I used to think they were silly too, but my wife got me into them. I have to say that I now rather enjoy playing them, currently AE2012 and SFXT. Not into the Marvel thing, but I am finding the first those two games to be pretty deep and entertaining.

YEs through manipulation of your joints and or "muscle groups" there are different styles, Jousting, Free running, Akido, Judo, Taekwondo, Sumo, Boxing, MMA, each with their own rule sets. There are fractures and dismemberments. Its kinda a little learning curve, but otherwise quite entertaining. Especially some of the positions you get in, and once you learn how to manipulate the other person it becomse quite fun, yesterday I did a sick hip toss and won a match of Akido.:arrgh!:

Oh yeah. She's participating in the Evolution 2013 tournament this July in Vegas.

My mother in law is watching the kids and we're flying out, where she'll play in the Street Fighter IV, Marvel vs. Capcom 3 and Street Fighter X Tekken brackets.

Wow.... :o
I knew there were gamer girls out there...and I had assumed that there were few...
I guess that's why they say "Assumption leads to failure" cause I assumed wrong. There is more than one alive. :D :O:
I also married a gamer girl, although admittedly she's more Pokémon and Final Fantasy than Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter (although she's not too bad at Soul Calibur and SSBM) however she has on seperate occasions managed to shoot down a Hind with a tank and snipe me with an AK-47 whilst being three roof tops away. Quite how she managed the latter I will never know, but my excuse was that I was too focused taunting Nagy by standing behind a badly placed hitbox which enabled me to take an RPG to the face and survive. :O:
EDIT: Oh, and if you really want your mind blown, I used to play Tekken against my mother, and she wasn't that bad at it.
