Hey folks, i was just playing sh3 when after an attack by a destroyer (got distracted shelling a tanker) all my bridge crew died. Now as i was on the bridge at the time, should i not be dead too? i know that the only way to really die in sh3 is to have your u-boat hit the bottom with loadsa holes in the hull, but this to me is a bit inaccurate. Is there a mod to change this or should i just play did?

...if you were dead too - who'd be in charge! :hmmm:

Not that I know of, but it's not a bad idea. In Aces Of The Deep you got to see a newspaper clipping of your demise. I've long thought that it would be cool to get the message "You were killed along with your bridge crew. The 2WO saw no option but to surrender the boat."

Or "You were killed by enemy fire. Your 1WO got the boat home safely, His career is just beginning, but yours is over."

As for sinking to the bottom, you can also die if you're too close to a target that explodes. I actually had that happen during the artillery training course at the Academy. But you're right, the only way to die is if the boat dies too.

I always add one officer crew member: me.
ability: Watchman, Arty AAA. Medals: as they come.
If that dude is Gone, Game is over.
