View Full Version : JSGME will not update.
When trying to update Enabler I keep getting this message on screen.
Does anyone have any ideas about how to correct this?
Cheers.

As far as I'm aware Jaesons site has been down for a considerable period of time.
The last version of JSGME is 2.6.0.157

JScones apparently let his site die about a year ago.
The answer is to try looking in Subsim Downloads, where it's been pinned for nearly a year.

I've no idea but he certainly tired of JSGME and SH3Commander.
I've no idea but he certainly tired of JSGME and SH3Commander.
That's the polite way to put it.:haha: I think he really tired of the ones who could not be bothered to read the manual, and asked the same questions over and over again.:nope:
:subsim:
when you think about what those two pieces of software do
for SH3 its easier to understand that the designer of this software
Had to move on.its over!
SH3 Is reborn with this software.it turns SH3 from a normal sim
Into one that is more mature with depth.
SH3 would not be what it is today without these programmes
so I doubt its so simple as ' people not reading manuals or asking repetitive questions.'
I think it was time to move on, he did what he could and hats off
To him for that. :salute:

One point I'd like to make, since we're talking specifically about JSGME and not SH3 Commander.
JSGME was not made for SH3, or for any Silent Hunter. JSGME is much older, and was designed to work with any game, going back as far as Red Baron. The 'G' stands for 'Generic'. :sunny:

Rgr that and another lesser known fact....Jaesen was one of the early Grey Wolves (prior to GWX) which had a bearing on the development of Commander.

True, but Beery and RUB also played a big part.

Beery- I remember his work for Red baron 3D. Very good stuff.

I guess I need to go ahead and try these programs out before they are gone. I'm still running stock, except for an old sound training mod, and i have been putting the mods off for one reason or another. Mostly due to my old machine, and afraid it won't be able to handle them. :hmmm:

I don't think those two programs use any extra power.

They should never be gone. They are being kept alive through Subsim Downloads, through private collections by Jimbuna and others, and by Plissken04 on his own server, run at his own cost. I tried to give him some money, but he refused to take it.
People like that are what keep these games alive, and probably always will.

:Kaleun_Salute: True that!
I wonder if SH3 is the most consistently moded game over the longest period of time - if youget my meaning?
IL2 is still going strong with patch 4.12 due out in the next couple of months. I understand that EAW is also going strong.

Probably in the top ten at least.
