SH 4 on Windows 8

Hi y'all. Got new computer for gaming, Windows 8. Will Silent Hunter 4 work on this OS? I also read that I will need version 1.5. Is this the Gold Edition? Does this version include all the patches? Thanks for any advise.

Yes SH4 with 1.5 add-on - also - Gold Edition will run on Windows 8.

All patches to 1.5 are in Gold from what I understand.

One of the first things a friend of mine did after he got Windows 8 was install SH4:

From the desktop I put my Silent Hunter 4 Gold Edition disc in the DVD drive and began the installation. The installation process went smoothly. It was essentially the same process I detailed in a previous article on installing Silent Hunter 4 in Windows 7
(see http://www.subsowespac.org/the-patrol-zone/silent-hunter-4-windows-7.shtml). I copied my Windows 7 saved games SH4 folder to the Windows 8 setup.....

Everything seems to work just fine on Win 8.1, which is a nice surprise! :)
