Hey guys, quick question, I have seen on a couple videos that when one goes to external view I see a yellow circle and arrow on top of the water showing the heading of sub, how can I get this feature?

Yep, U-Mark. It comes with the game. GWX removes it. :sunny:

I reinstalled it over GWZ with no ill effect at all.
Although I always do any instal or modding before a patrol when in the base.

ok so now I have lost my icons over crew pictures...is there no way to use these together? I really want my icons back, what should I do?

The U-Mark is its own .tga file. It's a picture only, and has no connection to the icons files. Something else must be wrong.

1. Did you use JSGME to install U-Mark? If so, remove it and re-install it. During installation does it stop you and tell you it will overwrite something else? If all it wants to overwrite is the old U-Mark file, click "Yes". If anything else, click "No".

2. You can install it directly by following the path described in the U-Mark folders. Just move the file into Silent Hunter III/Data/Misc.

the #2 choice, while in port before a mission, why does GWX remove it to begin with? This game has given me sooo many problems and very little gameplay.

Still dont have my crew talking to me at times so I always have to be staring at the screen which drives me madd

GWX being a major mod which focuses on historical accuracy and realism more than many other things - removes the umark for a couple of reasons i can think of off hand...

1... it doesnt / didnt exist in reality

2... it makes for better screenshots if it isnt in the image.

I hate that your having problems... sometimes the only thing harder than installing a mod correctly is creating the mod to begin with :woot:

follow the advice of those experienced folks here and you will be sailing smoothly soon

good luck
