PS4 announced feburary 20th?

I for one am interested in the news of the next gen consoles. The PlayStation has lots of exclusives that I cannot enjoy on my PC, and considering that my HTPC is dying, and the fact that I am a highly satisfied PSvita owner, I might very well pick one up.

I find it hard to believe they are releasing another one, from a business point of view. It's only been a year or so that they have been in the black on the PS3 (actual numbers anyone?). I know they sold it at a loss for years. It was cheaper to buy a PS3, which had BluRay, then to go buy a standalone BluRay player.

That said, it's about time for another generation of consoles to come out. If it works as a HTPC too, then I'll probably be investing, as my recently achieved bachelorhood demands it.

I tell you what, you buy a new PS4 with your (potential) winnings, and give me the old, outdated, old fashioned, nearly-defunct PS3.

I heard the Xbox 720 is being announced at E3, perhaps that has something to do with this :hmm2:

I bet before e3. A console launch is huge, there will need to be games and accessories.

What sony is doing, is by announcing before e3, they leave e3 open to their partners for their announcements. Microsoft would probably do the same thing.

While i have very admittedly little interest in consoles (in fact the only thing i'd buy them for are exclusives, such as Halo, Gears of War, and Resistance), it does seem like the time for the next gen consoles to be released. What was it, 2006 that PS3 and Xbox 360 came out? thats a life of almost 6 and a half years.

Helluva run, i have to admit. Also kind of makes me feel old, cause it feels like not even that long ago the PS3 and Xbox 360 were selling out because of their release. I still have my old N64. Great times, great times.
