It's been awhile since I got one of these emails. This one has a new twist:

"My name is Capt. Michael P. Brabner an officer in the US Army, presently serving with the 82nd Airborne Division Peace keeping force in Iraq.I am on the move to Afghanistan and i really need your help in assisting me with the safe keeping of two military trunk boxes which has just arrived the USA. will explain further as soon as you respond.
Capt. Michael P. Brabner"

I just have to know what's in those trunks. I'm so glad one of our wonderful soldiers is willing to trust me. :dead:

Sweet, and all he wants are your social security and pin numbers. How can you lose? You're on easy street now, Steve.

Don't project. He hasn't asked for anything.

Yet. :sunny:

Do it. Best experience of my life. It cost me my savings, mutual fund investments, a mortage foreclosure and I had to cash in my 401K at 30 years old, but when my beloved adoptees arrive any day now it will totally be worth it. Totally.

Obviously trustworthy, if he's an officer and all.

Let's see. Mystery trunks with real live army goodies, adoptable kids from who-knows-where, and five million dollars guaranteed by the FBI.

How could life get any better?

Two trunks, you said, why does a movie pop up in my head?

Can't remember the name of the movie, but this woman, got to take a trunk from point A(I science lab I think) to point B. She is not allowed to open it, but she does and find a child or was it a embryor

He's probably been kicked out of the house by his wife and is looking for somewhere to store his clothes till he finds an apartment.

He also might like to keep up with current events, like we pulled out all our troops a long time ago!

I got a call on my cell phone today the number displayed was unfamiliar to me but I answered anyway.

No one answers but I get this automated message saying that I had just won a cruise on Norwegian Cruise Lines of course I never entered into any contest.

I hung up at that point and did not even bother to listen to how to claim my prize.I am fairly certain it was some sort of scam.Get someone all excited then they follow the "claim your prize instructions" which most likely is you giving away your bank account information.

Is there a pause and then a ship horn sound? I get those about once a month.

If there was a horn it did not come though there was the typical pause that you get when any automated phone system calls you.Still it seemed suspect to me.

I also get calls from Texas based bill collector they always leave a message looking for Larry Diem who ever that is my guess is that he is some South Vietnamese Army officer that was involved in the black market and sold lots of US government M16 back in 1970 and now they want their money back.(Diem is a Vietnamese name) sometimes they leave a message looking for Daniel Nguyen I wonder why are shifty Vietnamese gangsters using my phone number.(most likely they take their number and use my area code)

I also got something from the UN secretary, but I deleted the mail. He has the bad habit of spamming my e-mail with low quality porn and always want to give me money from the UN. :D

you know why I don't trust the un? They always offer to split their embezzled money with me! Me! Not someone who is even reasonably smart. Thus, I must conclude that they are completely incompetant

You yanks are lucky. In Australia, most phone calls are an Indian person saying "Hello. I am from Microsoft. We have detected a fault in your computer. Please tell us your password." :dead:
