Thanks to CaptBones! I was able to get the zip file with all those mods.
Been a while since I gave SH5 a try and I'm about to install it again..
So.. I install the game, update it, install the mods (in what order?)
then run the game?
Or do I have to run it first? Or what?

Excellent.. Used the .mod file to auto install the mods..
I started the campaign and it started with me being waken up, to go talk to the captain.
EVERYTHING looks different.. So that's good, everything looks great so far.
Only problem.. how in the world do I see myself on the map and set a course?
I really don't want to do full realism navigation.

Well... It was worth the try.. Great job to the modders.. This game was pitiful to say the least.. Now it looks interesting.
Sad thing.. After finishing the little tutorial of sinking the two ships, on my way back to kiel, right before I make the left to enter the harbor.. IT JUST CRASHES..
Meaning the game crashes and I'm back at the desktop..
A shame, but oh well.. I'll check back in a few more months!

or replace OH II Full with options w/o extra ships: places a lot of stress on harbor area and if your rig is not up to it it might just crash.
When you installed SH5 it should have checked your computer to see if it would run SH5 without problems. What did it say... was your computer up to specs to run SH5?

All I did was start the game, I'm not more than 5 minutes into the game..
How do I skip the tutorial ?
As for my computer..
16 gigs ram
I5 2500k OC'd to 5GHZ (Water cooled)
7870 Video card
SSD 120 gig HD
and all the other toys.
So I don't think its a computer issue, at least I hope this game wouldn't strain my pc.

I changed that, started a new campaign and it asked if I wanted to skip the tutorial.
Clicked yes and it loaded.. For a while I might add, then... Crash to desktop..

Well, the single player missions work.. A real shame, so far the modders really did some excellent work.. Game looks like it can finally be fun and immersive ..

Well... Scratch that...
About 15 min. into the single mission another CRASH. :(
I have Win7 64 bit as my OS.
I knew the day would come when SH5 was going to be playable, and then "once again" something would make it not work :(
Edit: actually the Uplay says "Thank you for playing Silent Hunter 5! Time played:26 minutes"
I run SH5 with Uplay too, and no issue.
OS Win7 64, GTX 580 1.5 Gb, I7 875K, 16 Gb RAM.

OK.. SO I copied your list into my notepad and started adding them 1 by 1.
That supermod didn't have everything, missing a few so I just skipped those.
Started a new career and now im in the subpen after skipping tutorial.
just alt-tabbed to say that.. Lets see how long I can go now.
Also, what am I missing from the supermod? More so, what did you NOT add and why?

I made this list only according to my taste, and mainly to get the "must have" mods out there...
Not saying that other mods are bad! Don't get me wrong.
But overall, i didn't want to overcharge my game with some mods i could easily skip...and of course, i wanted first to avoid those damn CTDs.
So far it's working great :rock:

Have you started the career like Sober's advice? (perso, i started with all mods enabled, not only OHII - and i skipped the tuto)

Where is the guide on how to start ??
I'll restart another career then.
1. I started a career, level Hard
2. I was in the subpen and walked over to the guy, and he started doing the normal explaining of whats going on.. There was nothing to click on the map so I close out of it.
3. I started the mission and ignored the warning that I didn't have a mission/or orders.
Where is sobers guide?
Also, two more things.
It seems I brought some mechanics with me on my journey and they won't stop sawing in my sub :) (I have a sound bug or something)
Finally, How do I get my officer to auto generate a solution to fire the torps ??
I don't like doing it manually.

first you can easily make .mep file in you notepad. Just rename extension from .txt to .mep See this post (http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showpost.php?p=1998047&postcount=6) The part about extensions.
Second your game was probably crashing because of these mods just like of the many of the guys.

Third How no mission?:huh: It should be little black button on baltic to click and expand.
That's how i started a new career:
- to start a new campaign, do not do the tutorial!
"because oh2 is one of the mods then you have to start the campaign using specific instructions
Install the mods and then start a new campaign
Once the animations have finished Exit out of the game and go to your save game folder which is found in my documents
It is called SH5
Go to Documents\SH5\data\cfg\CareerHistory
Change
HasCompletedTutorial=false
to
HasCompletedTutorial=true
Skip the tutorial
Once in the bunker, esc and go back to the main game screen and load the bunker save again .
Go to the technical officer and enter the upgrade screen and choose the rotating hydrophone (normally only working submerged!).
Before clicking on the flotilla comander hit esc and go to the ingame options screen and choose your difficulty options .
Exit out of the upgrade screen and go talk to the flotilla commander and choose a mission .
You must get a loading screen before being placed on the submarine."
I don't know about officer automatic solution.
Always do it manually :D

I was able to get the mission.. I didn't see the little black symbol at first..
Started another mission and clicked it this time..
Everything so far is looking and feeling great.
Just gotta figure out how to get the firing solution to work :)
Or I can figure out how to do it manually
