Millions of servicemen from across western Europe lived, fought and died in the muddy trenches of Belgium during World War One.
As the Great War's 100th anniversary approaches, people have been asked to delve into their family histories and share their War memories with the world, as part of the EU's "Europeana 1914-1918" project to preserve their real stories.
One of them is Stuart Cockerill who has recently put the memories of both his grandfathers, Edward Tindall and George Cockerill, online, giving their personal story a global audience.
