"Former New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin was indicted Friday on charges that he used his office for personal gain, accepting payoffs, free trips and gratuities from contractors while the city was struggling to recover from the devastation of Hurricane Katrina."
Another scum politician.

Another scum politician.
Do you think it would be better if we provide a list of decent politicians rather than endless topics on bad ones.
Would a blank sheet constitute a "list" though?

There are some good politicians that do believe in the system. But these types are not good news stories that draw ratings. Sometimes the behavior of people is quite puzzling.

The picture of all those yellow school buses being left where they were in the bus barn yard, before huricane katrina hit will always be with me.
All they had to do is find someone to drive them and the thousands of people stranded at the super bowl out of harms way.
You know the one President Bush flew over as they were shooting at the helicopter pilots trying to help them :hmmm:
too bad for New Orleans they deserve better leaders
It's not just Nawlins that needs better leaders... the whole country need better than what they have now, and had before.

You know any?
Leopold Pogacar, our mayor.
Ever since we elected him the entire municipality is booming. Roads and infrastructure has been renewed, busineses are opening as fast as larger towns in the vicinity close them, tourism has tripled and not a single cent has gone missing.
Sure, he has his vices. Likes to drink a lot but he only does it after work, he hates loosing friends so he's pushed around by some of the local rednecks and jerks and he's a former cop
Plus, he's party independent and it's hard to get goverment funding since the rulling party hates independent municipalities

"For military officials, who flew rescue missions around the city, the reports that people were shooting at helicopters turned out to be mistaken."
Still it could be worse, it could be the policeman pinned own by a sniper that turned out to just be the sound of a gas safety valve.

Indicted is just that. A formal accusation that a person has committed a crime.
Even Scum-Sucking POS Dirt-bag, Dishonest, Dishonourable politicians have a right to a trial.
I am glad that at least some SSPOSDBDD politicians are being brought to trial.
