For 999, you can get an i5, 4gb ram, Geforce 640m, and 64 gb ssd.

This is a pretty damned impressive tablet I have to say. The battery life is pretty good at "tablet" tasks, 8 hours, but only 2 hours with intensive gaming (although to be fair, there are not that many good gaming laptops with long battery life, 2 hours is pretty good)

For extra, you can get a controller grip (pretty much required for serious gaming)

the screen res is a bit low, only 1366 * 768, but than, realistically, the GPU can probably push no more than that.

This tablet gets my attention, in my opinion, it is a much better deal than the highest spec ipad at 850$

Yep, its a full Windows tablet. None of that RT nonsense.

AKA, all of your Windows programs would run.

And this tablet won best of CES: http://ces.cnet.com/8301-34437_1-57563306/best-of-ces-2013-razer-edge/

Its been a while since I played SH5, but it isn't really hard to remap buttons to a controller for most games, (which I assume would be possible for SH5)

Plus, this tablet's controller is generally similar to the xbox 360/PS3 controller. This means that you shouldn't really have issues playing most games (since most are cross platform between PC/Xbox/Playstation anyways)

^^^^^

If the Japanese and Russians could find ways of doing that with PS3 and Xbox 360 controllers, I'm sure it can work on this abomination.

If someone wants to pay a thousand whatevers just to play games, they're welcome to it. Gaming is a tiny tiny part of my life, and I have a car to buy. :sunny:

This machine has usb ports, for games like silent hunter, you can plug in a mouse and keyboard. And again, it is a full windows computer, which means that you can even plug in more exotic gear like a joystick or steering wheel.

However, I would not rush to dismiss the controller.

I use a Razer controller: http://www.razerzone.com/store/razer-onza-tournament-edition

when I would like to lie down on my couch, enjoy some games on my TV, its a pretty damned good piece of gear. Works pretty well for quite a lot of games.
