I’m a longtime player of SH3 and was originally wary of SH5 due to the number of bugs being reported by subsim users. Thanks to the work of modders, I understand the game is more than playable.
Before I take the plunge and buy it, I was wondering if there are any mods out there that alter or do away with SH5’s mission-based campaign system. It seems like some of the missions will have BdU ordering me to sink half the Royal Navy in a single patrol, which is frankly silly.
I know the Open Horizons mod significantly improves the quality and length of the campaign, but the description suggests that more secondary missions have been added to the game. Are the campaign missions even that big of a deal? Could I just ignore them and play the game as if it had SH3’s dynamic campaign?
Thanks for your help.
