Destroyer-group "glued" to my tail

I've noticed this a few times and it's annoying.

I occationaly get a small group of destroyers that keep "tailing" me, outside of visual range but I keep seeing them on the hydrophone. If I observe them it looks like they're actively hunting for a submarine but wherever I go they follow at about the same location and so far always to the southeast of my position. If I alter course, they remain in that "corner". It's quite annoying since they disturb my hydrophone checks and it also means I always will have a destroyer group nearby that might respond too quick for comfort if I attack something.

Has anyone else noticed this "bug?"

I've also had this happen with a friendly destroyer that followed me from port almost all the way to Scapa Flow before it despawned.
I was hoping it would follow me in and commence in a little surface action, but it didn't :(

Yep, it's really annoying!

Most of the time it happened when I was patrolling southwest of British waters. Only saving and loading the game again fixes that issue. If I remember right, this happens in the previous Silent Hunter games as well, not sure if some mod makes this bug more frequent ...

I've seen it twice, leaving Kiel harbour.
My watch man reported me an escort ship each time, and i thought it was for escorting me for a while...:haha:
That said, not closing them at the harbour exit, and passing as far as possible, they never escorted me again...

I actually had this happen to me once again today. Had a german destroyer follow me far into the north atlantic before it suddenly turned home again. I had an aircraft pass by it and was hoping it would fire AAA on it but I think it passed too far away. A shame. Would have been neat to watch :)

Only saving and loading the game again fixes that issue.

Same thing happened to me today, and saving and reloading was the only fix.
