You ever see or hear something that makes you want to punch a hole in the wall ? You ever drive yourself crazy because of it? Here is where you can state what drives you over the edge. :D

I'll start.

I cannot stand to be in the same room with anybody who is chewing loudly. With their mouth open? Even worse. It drives me crazy for some reason.

You guys' turn now!

Imported junk. :nope: It does my head in...really. Endless tons of low quaity nick nacks (ie crap you don't need) that people buy just because they can..., because it's cheap. And it's all destined for land fill in a very short period of time.

It's especially bad when it comes to things that compete with locally made/good-quality products as the ridiculously cheap imports force local/qualtity manurfacturers to lower the quality of their products to be able to compete with the chinese (et al) rubish price-wise. This seems to create a kind of feed-back loop with net result being that all products in a catorgory become low quality and it becomes impossible to buy a good quality product at all, where previously it was the best quality product that sold best.

When I think of all the recources that are burnt/consumed producing all this garbage it does my head in. There's the energy (and pollution) to mine the materials, the energy to ship materials to china, there's the materials themselves, theres the production (factory) energy, the materials for packaging (and ascociated costs/pollution), the transport costs to ship the finished junk back to australia (or your country), there's the distribution transport, there's the work you had to do to earn the money to buy that novilty egg timer you allways wanted that'll break after the third time you use it, then there's the energy to get broken junk to the tip and buried in land fill 'cause it's too hard to recycle, and of course, there's the whole lot repeated again 'cause you have to buy another one, 'cause you decided to buy something cheap 'n' nasty...........AAAAAAARRGHHH!:damn:

Sure, it only cost ya two bucks, but what's the real cost of all this junk?

i absolutely HATE when something is obviously bothering my GF and she outright refuses to talk about it no matter what.

she would rather stew over it and refuse to discuss it than risk reaching some sort of solution to her problem

I'll second that Troopie, just drives me nuts.

Cellphone users is another. You can't talk to some people anymore because they are on the phone while you just sit there. Even if the person you're talking to tries to get off the other won't quit. Either that or they are texting somebody, you might as well not be there.

Why is it that some people think you have nothing better to do than to talk to them on a cell, if you say your busy their feelings get hurt.

Went to a Christmas dinner at my sons GF. There were eight people there but only me, my son and his GF did any talking everybody else was either on a computer or cell. Nobody said anything to anybody most of the evening.

Maybe it's just me but it drives me crazy. :/\\!!:/\\!!:/\\!!

I cannot stand people whos reaction change as soon as someone important walks in they act like they would kiss their feet. Or how the well off get the special treatment instead of the not so well off, could never understand this, i seen this happen today one such man standing in line who was dressed in rags looking like a homeless chap was made to wait while the man in the fancy suit got served first. Made my blood boil :stare: i treat everyone the same in RL we are all the same in the flesh the only difference is how much money.

You can't be the only creative one around here. :D

You know what else annoys me? Mouth breathers. People who breathe loudly out of their mouth makes me wanna punch a hole in the wall. :/\\!! It sounds different than nose breathing. AND! When a noise gets on my nerves, everything else is slowly zoned out until all i hear is Darth Vader over here like he just ran a marathon.

Some peoples lack of spatial awareness - standing in doorways or supermarket aisles blocking the whole thing. My wife is particularly guilty of this but I still love her.

It's not just you. This is all to common these days. I've been to those family gatherings. You wonder why you are even there.

Just as bad. Meeting some one at a restaurant and the first thing they do is take out their cell and read their messages. I must be too old. I've never done that.

I am annoyed by "important" people. We have a lot of important people in North Virginia

They are the ones who cut you off in traffic because clearly getting to their destination is way more important than yours

They are the ones who butt in line because their time is much more important than yours.

They are the ones who throw trash on the ground when the trash can is just a few steps away (or worse simply leave it for the unimportant people to clean up.

They are the ones who simply must answer their cell phone and talk loudly because their lives clearly take priority over yours. coughcoughmovietheaterscoughcough.

They are the ones walking down the street focused on their electronic device and expect others to get out of their way because unimportant people really need to recognize their responsibilities for getting out of the way of important people.

They are the ones being rude to service people who are just trying to do their job, because service people really should be able to recognize important people.

They are the ones who generally don't follow the rules (legal or social) because they are exceptional and rules are for the other person.

And they are the ones who whine the loudest when, after being caught violating the rules, have to accept consequences (legal or social).

I am getting sick and tired of important people. :nope:

They are seldom that important. :yep:

^ ^ ^

We call that "Center Of The Universe" syndrome.

I hate it when I'm polite to someone in the supermarket, and they don't return the favor. I'll want to go into a particular aisle, but two people together are coming down the main aisle, so I'll kindly stop and wait for them to go by. Their next move is to stop right between me and the aisle I wanted. They won't pick something off the shelf, but stop there and start talking to each other. It's like my job is to stand and wait for them to finish being rude.

Platapus
01-01-13, 10:59 AM
As I am sure everyone's grandmother said

"It is nice to be important, but it is more important to be nice"

Society would be a lot better if we had more nice people. :yep:

Somehow being nice fell out of favour.

I wonder when this happened and more importantly, why it happened?

Sailor Steve
01-01-13, 11:03 AM
Oh, I still have a very large share of 'nice' encounters - mutual apologies over being in each others' way and the like. The rude ones are annoying, for sure, but I meet lots of nice people when I'm out and about, and I try to be one as well.

Loud crunching, and wrappers in the movie theatre.

Some fat terd, chomping on the popcorn, or fiddling with plastic, or the loud noise of pouring milk duds out of that box.

Or jerk offs who feel a need to comment on everything that happens in the flick, The retard who sits next to my wife then elbows her the whole time, regardless of the fact there was space for a one seat buffer, he had to sit next to my wife, his body odor wafted to me 2 seats away.

People wonder why piracy is so rampant, because paying 12-15$ for a movie then not being able to hear it, because of people. Having to smell someone, or listen to the jibber jabbering of a group of rowdy people.

Platapus
01-01-13, 11:27 AM
All those and more are the reasons I eschew going to movie theaters. With DvDs coming out pretty quick, I can watch the movie in my house without people around me.

People ruin the theater experience for me. :yep:
