Best DL for SH4 u-boat add on?

Hello, all. I just bought Silent Hunter 4 & 5, off Amazon, through the link at the top of the site. I bought brand new CD versions. :rock:

I did not see a CD version for the SH4 u-boat add on, so I assume they are rare or DL only. So should I download the u-boat add on through Amazon (9.99 currently), or wait it out for a CD version listing if one exists? Thanks!

The disc version would be better but you can get the download and make sure you make a back up and keep it safe. Always install a copy of the backup.

SH4 "add on" is just that,an add on, the one you are looking for is called Silent Hunter 4 Gold Edition.

allot of players get confused by that when looking the game up on Amazon

Let me ask this, then. Once I install SH4 and patch up, what patch version do I need to install the u-boat add on afterward? I'm reading about version 1.4 and 1.5 here and there in the forums, but I don't know what the differences are concerning the u-boat add on.

SH4 has not arrived yet, and probably won't until the end of the week, so if installing the game answers my question then let me know; or if there is a thread here that maybe I'm just not seeing that will fill me in. Thanks again...

The quickest and cheapest way to get the U-Boat add-on (which is also the 1.5 patch) is here http://www.amazon.com/Silent-Hunter-Wolves-Pacific-Download/dp/B004I43FAG/ref=sr_1_3?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1356963627&sr=1-3&keywords=silent+hunter+4. If you click on the link at the top right of this page, then type in "SH4" and click on the link for the add-on, Subsim will get a small cut at no extra cost to you. Follow Magic452's advice and back it up in a safe place before installing it in your game.

The 'Gold' edition CaptGeo described is the complete edition, already patched to 1.5. Unfortunately it is also very expensive these days.
