It is a bit like Rogue. But not wasting CPU cycles on graphics, but unleashing all CPU power onto calculating the flow of life and "history" in this world. And this world is HUGE.
Some call it a generation-project.

It's relevant, guys. One of my dwarves just recently was wearing a turban and saying he is going to bring change to the fortress. I had my record keepers go through all the wall carvings in the tombs, but none could find his birth carving. Go figure.

It's a pretty overwhelming game, that's for sure. :dead:
Had one fortress in 40d that survived for a few years. Over time the farmers took other jobs, and food production took a hit. And more importantly alcohol production was down.
No booze make dwarf go crazy!
Problem was that I was so focused on getting a aqueduct system going, that I didn't focus on the important stuff.
Soo, dwarves started dying. And I didn't have a place for dead dwarves to be buried, just had a zone marked for dead bodies. So that must've created unhappy thoughts for the dwarves.
Then came the tantrum spiral. Basically a runaway freight train.
Wasn't prepared for it so it became a bloodbath.
Abandoned the fortress not long after that.
