View Full Version : Toyota poised to reclaim world's biggest carmaker title
Toyota is set to reclaim the title of world's biggest carmaker in 2012, after falling into third place in 2011.
The Japanese firm said it anticipated a 22% increase in group sales for 2012, reaching 9.7 million vehicles globally.
The bulk of them - 8.68 million - come from its own-brand and Lexus vehicles.
In 2011, Toyota lost the top spot to General Motors of the US with Germany's Volkswagen coming second, after Japan's tsunami and earthquake, as well as flooding in Thailand, hit production.
Toyota had previously held the crown for the world's biggest maker and seller of cars in three consecutive years, from 2008 to 2010.

Sometimes the windows or lock wouldn't work on a Yugo and when you opened the inside a message would be inside: kolko meni plata, tolko tebi vrata (your door like my pay)

My family has owned many cars from many manufacturers both domestic and foreign. Toyotas were the ones we never had any problems with.
Although I like my Subaru, I still wonder if I should not have gone for the Toyota.

Only Toyota I ever owned (not the actual vehicle) and she behaved admirably.

Of all the Toyotas I've only ever driven Land Cruisers in the Middle East, they had two huge fuel tanks totalling about 150 litres. The cost to fill up over there was sooooo cheap, to fill up here, now, would cost ~£200. :o
I'd love one, but the wife'd kill me if I turned up in anything bigger than your normal smallish-family saloon. :dead:

I'm now approaching £80 per tank full and don't reckon that is too costly given todays extortionate fuel costs.

Fog lights. my car had them, not the fancy beam halogen kind. Before the unfortunate accident with the icy slope and a rock

Great Wall are building them now.
Toyota moved to new premises to produce the new shape Hilux. Great wall moved in to the old factory, and have been popping them out ever since.

Then you should consider yourself lucky because here in the UK there are areas where they'd simply torch it if they considered it not worth taking...but I dare say the same could be said in many countries around the globe.

Yeah, it's suprisingly peacefull considering that it's the Balkans.
Even random windshield smashings are a rarity.
Needs more proper Land Rover.
