Sit down children, let me tell you the tale of how an Englishman and a Texan defeated boredom and loneliness

It was a long time ago. As far as anyone can remember. A time when people were lonely, having only to know people that lived close to them. Whether they liked eachother or not, one had only friends one could visit in a day.

So a thought came in to one Englishmans head. A man named Jimbuna. ''I already told all the jokes I knew to my mates at the pub and havent heard anything new, I wish there was a way to have more friends without using all my money for airplanes'' he pondered by himself

A thought so powerfull, it stretched across the great ocean. An ocean that would would bring people together, never again just divide them.
It was picked up by a Texan named Neal.

''That's it'' he said to himself with a smile

''I GOT IT'' he ran into the saloon, his pistol in one hand and what was left of his bike in the other

His friends knowing Neal would not damage his bike unless it was something important, so they listened to him

''I am going to create a public place, where all people with an interest of sumbarines and naval warfare may discus and talk about politics, weather, booze and other unrelated stuff and make subgames better''
''But how Neal'' his friends were curius
''By a new media, the internetz''
''Oooooooooooooooh'' they said, doubtfull since the internetz was young and untested.

And so he found a young programer

''Teach me the ways of programing and help me create Subsim''
The programmer was thrilled of the idea, since he was also lacking new friends to talk programing with.

A gazzilion 1's and 0's later, the Subsim was up and running.

''Nice work everybody'' Neal said to everyone as members started to sign up

''Shhhhhh, Neal, I hear bagpipes, strange''

The men turned and there was Jimbuna, who learned of the site and brought half the Empire and Europe with him

''Now our forum is trully international, we can talk about anything over thousands of miles, never running out of topics''

And everyone followed Neal and never one was short of jokes, opinions or lolkatz, a carring friend or a counselor.

:har: Brilliant work :haha:

Must get around to watching that film, looks brilliant from what I've seen of it, and I think the event that it's based around is a heartwarming touch of humanity in a barbarous time. :yep:

Not really. It's professional sports. None of those guys are from Texas. They're just hired help.
