I have been following Sobers mod compilation and have confirmed that I have v1.2. I have installed the Mod Enabler and downloaded the MEP file.
I then have a problem trying to extract it with 7zip so I am unable to place the list in the Mod Enabler
As I am a 70 year old I would be grateful if someone could explain what to do in simple terms.

Wow, 70 years young! Congratulations Brian and welcome to Subsim! :salute:

It sounds like you're having an issue unzipping the MEP file. If that's the case was there any kind of a pop-up or error message? If not, perhaps it unzipped in a different location.

You could always try again using the 'Extract Here' option. If it still doesn't work re-download the file as the one you have might be corrupt.

You could always try again using the 'Extract Here' option.

...or you can drag/drop the MEP file wherever you want. Usually I use winrar, but 7zip should work the same way.

Sorry if I sound a little vague. I downloaded the MEP file, and it appeared on my desktop as a winrar file named sobers. I then selected Extract Here and got a white file named sobers. This is where I am confused as I can't seem to do anything with this file. If I click on it it gives an option to open it, but what do I open it with? and then what do I do

Now you need to download ALL the mods in sobers list and place them (unpacked) into your mods folder.

Then when all the mods are in that MODS folder - load the profile "Sober" and that will load all the mods on the correct order:up:
