Advice on which patches/mods/anything to bring SH4 up to date

Hi, I.ve recently joined this form and have got some great help (Thanks). I am just wondering exactley what people are using to update their SH4 games. I'm not the most knowlegable person when it comes to computers, but if u explain it to me in steps, I can usually accomplish the task. I"ve been reading the posts left by others in this forum and I don't know what certain things mean, like TMO etc. I really want to upgrade my game to a playable one with awesome graphics, and realism. I am a perfectionist when it come to realism, I like the game to be as real and historical as possible. So, If any one can give me a hand, I sure would appriciate it, Thanks!

TMO: Trigger Maru Overhauled. Its a supermod (e.i. very big mod with a lot of improvements.)

I personally like to run Real Fleet Boats v2.0 mod (i think it qualifies as a supermod as well) with the Run Silent Run Deep Campaign mod. It brings the game to a very high realism feel without being too difficult (i hear TMO can be quite hard sometimes.)

You need to have SH4 in v1.5 to run most mods now and you can only get your game to that version by purchasing the U-Boat Missions add-on.

Unfortunately for the graphics there isn't that much that can be done. It is a fairly old engine after all.

Thanks for the info. Do you know where I can buy the 1.5 update disk? I tried to download the one on here, but my computer would'nt have any part of that! So, when I get the 1.5 update, is that the only thing I need to install after I put a fresh version of SH4? Or, do I need to install the other "offical" "patches" that Ubisoft put out and then install the 1.5?

You can download the U-Boat add-on, which is 1.5 at Amazon.com. If you go through the link at the top of the page Subsim gets a small cut.

And 1.5 contains all the previous updates, so it's all you need.
