Never mind an eight year gaol term. He should be destroyed for attempting to sell the country's secrets. :hulk:

He was an NCO not an officer.Sounds like he got in on lower standards anyway so whose fault is that? He should not have been in the Royal Navy in the first place.
Death for treason has never stopped anyone before anyway.
Deport him to Russia after his jail term i say if he likes them so much.

He didn't have anything of a particularly high level of sensitivity to pass on and what he did have he never actually got round to passing it on...very much an amatuer.

His defence barrister, Lord Carlile QC, claimed..... the 'secret' information was worthless.
It does not matter. Unless UK NDAs are different from US ones, they state that you will never give sensitive information to unauthorized people. It does not say that you can give information that you feel is "worthless" or that it is OK to give information if you think it needs to be publicized. :nope:
It says never divulge sensitive information to unauthorized people or divulge via unauthorized venues.
Unless the UK laws are different then US laws, the government does not have to prove any actual harm, only that sensitive information was illegally divulged.

Nope, no difference. Even if he hadn't signed the OSA, which he would've done when he joined, he would still have been subject to it, as all citizens are.
His girlfriend has caught a real fine chap here, rape, this, what next - after prison?

What? He is a rapist too?
He was accused a few years ago, of raping someone with such severe 'learning difficulties' that she struggled to give evidence. He got off. :nope:

A model citizen all the way around of course like posted before the person/s to blame are the ones that allow people to enlist with lowered standards this has been an issue for a while in the US military.
