Is there a mod or fix that corrects the screw rotation direction?
Or am I simply looking at things 'backwards' being in the Southern Hemisphere?
Thanks,

No, you're right. With a couple of notable exceptions (which were notable for being failures) twin screws always rotate to the outside (port screw rotates counterclockwise, starboard rotates clockwise). That SH3 got it backwards was a screw-up (pardon the pun). That SH4 and SH4 kept it that way is just plain wrong.

There are mods for SH3 and SH4. There should be one for SH5, but I can't play it so I never checked.

I've not seen a mod to correct the propeller rotation for SH5 Steve. Could be out there but I've not seen it yet here in SubSim's Downloads or in a Release thread. This seems to be the only thread I found doing a Search that addresses it for SH5.

But it would be a good request.....

Could someone do this mod please? Thank you in advance. :salute:

Wow I never even noticed that. Good eyes. I probably never would have put two and two together, I'm a single screw (propulsor actually) Sailor!

I never noticed it either. There have just been threads on the SH3 version for the last seven years. On the other hand I never look, because I try not to use external view.

I've always thought it was funny that people complain about how unrealistic the sea floor looks or that they can't see far enough (or see too far) or about propeller rotation, but they never complain that they can fly around and look at everything like they were Superman. On the other hand, I do it too, so don't take that as an insult.

Steve, external view is great for those upclose and personal screenshots of your Uboat. and when some other crazy things happen in the sim. ;)

True, but older sims like AOD and SH1 got along fine without it. It's a great toy, and I use it too, but never mention anything you look at with it and "realistic" in the same sentence.

LMAO... so very true. :salute:

Isn't that the truth. Funny thing is, (at the time), I never felt like I was missing anything. But now that I can snap all the pretty screenshots, I guess it'd be hard to go back to the good ole days! :03:
