This just goes to show how heavily bombed London was during the Blitz etc.

Interestingly, I recognise some of the locations of bomb craters from near where I grew up,

I get a 404 not found error from that link.

That's odd, it's slow but works for me, I re-pasted the link just in case

Cheers

I think their website has been blitzed from the traffic. Very interesting map though, I look forward to seeing it closer when the site comes back up.

It is very interesting to see the location of craters that I used to play in as a kid and also how densely populated the bombs were in central London. In some cases one can see a "stick" of bombs landing in a straight line. What would have been very interesting would have been an overlay layer of key targets such as armaments factories etc..

Was looking at it in the DAF forum the other day...would love to see one covering all the UK.

Oh My Giddy Aunt!

I panned out to see the whole thing, and it's pretty intense. I panned in to the closest, and each hit is carefully recorded with the bomb type and exact location.

This is pretty cool!

Do they have a similar map for WWI bombings?

I am finding the history of airship and long range aircraft bombing in WWI very interesting.
