Hey all, new on here and have a couple of quick questions:
I'm running SH3 GWX Gold. I'm about 8 patrols into a 1939 campaign, 2nd Flotilla out of Wilhelmshaven. Type VIIB (U-46).
I recently decided to upgrade to a VIIC (with a view to moving on to a Type IX later) and was surprised to see that my new VIIC was the U-46! So despite the upgrade, my U-Boat does not have a new number.
My questions are; is this the way the game works or is it an error? And are there any ways of re-numbering your boat?

Download and use SH3 Commander.
That will solve your renumbering problem plus many others.
It works outside SH3 and it is very easy to use.
You can find it in the download section of Subsim.

OK thanks, do I need to re-start my campaign if I start using SH3 Commander?

OK, that's good news. I lost a campaign when I downloaded GWX so would hatre to start again from scratch!

No offense meant, but you get no sympathy from me! Seven years ago I got into the habit of starting over every time a new mod changed things more than a little. New harbor animations? New career. New depth charge values? New career.
It's getting close to eight years now, and I've never seen the backside of 1940. :dead:
