well after finding out that this game is on steam i was delighted. well after purchasing it and the uboat missions it was fine as wine just had to set my res to 1600 x 1200 60 Hz. well after messing around with the graphics i by pure accident set the right res but the Hz was at 120 thinking nothing of it i logged off and went to sleep. after waking up thinking i was gonna have a fun filled day making the ijns life a living hell well todays been hell for me. now after the movie plays and the epic poem is bellowed out my monitor goes black and says input not supported. getting rather mad at this point i deleted said game and expansion and re downloaded them thinking it would set everything back to default settings. much to my growing anger it did not just said input not supported and goes black i can however hear the music playing so the game is running so after re deleting said content im at my wits end. if anyone can help me out that would be wonderful. if not ill have to save up and order a CD copy off ebay or another source. and i know there is alot of anti steam folk on here and had a lot of problems with the system. if anyone knows how to set the res to 1600 x 1200 60 Hz without having the game running that would be awesome. currently doing a 3rd install at the moment. thank you.

Huh. I DLed mine. I can uninstall and reinstall and go back to default settings. Your problem is a puzzlement to me.

Edit your main.cfg file in Documents/SH4/data/cfg with notepad. The resolution line is under the [Video] heading. If that doesn't work, delete the main.cfg file. If that still doesn't work, delete the whole SH4 folder from documents. That starts you over with default settings but no saved games.

you have to open the computer files and manually delete whats left in there after uninstalling the game, then open your documents and delete the sh4 folder there, then its safe to reinstall the game.

see info here:

(ignore the info there about vista and where to install the game, just let it install itself normally)

i dont know why people like steam so much, they are not a company i would ever buy from and most who do will get screwed over at some point, its just a matter of when

that means you had a corrupted game save, those things happen :O:

as soon as you restart the game it will create a new folder there for you
