I don't like this....

I'm running TMO+RSRDC (amazing game) and there is one thing that i cannot stand. I'm not complaining about the game, just the camera.

The external free camera goes through everything. It will pass through my sub, the ground, buildings, etc. :/\\!! I like to see the bottom of the ocean in SH4. It wasn't as pretty in SH3. :woot:

Is there a way to fix this? Is there a mod out there that will fix it? I can't stand it. The SH3 GWX3 camera is much, much better.

I don't know of a fix, except you don't have to go through things....

They're several mods that rework the shore and ocean bottom.

The bottom and shore are fine the way they are. I just don't like that the camera goes through what I'm looking at.

There's no way of preventing the camera from going through objects; if that's what you want to do. In the free camera mode for SH4, there is nothing stopping the camera from moving through any object except for your own control. Just the way it is.

There's lots of things that SHIII did very well that were pushed along into SH4. There's also lots of things that were simply "cobbled together" for the SH4 game that were done correctly in SHIII. You've just found one of them.

As the doctor said after a patient complained about his arm hurt when he raised it over his head, "If your arm hurts when you do that........don't do that!"

yes there is a setting in the files that controls how close you can get to something before you get stopped, if its set wrong you can go thru everything.

i cant recall off the top of my head what setting it is but its definately something you can fix.

look into my free cam mod and use the settings there to guide you

Well, I didn't realize Webster had a mod for this too, but I use Less Plankton 1.2 by WhiteOwl. Its in the Graphics Mods section of the SH4 download page here.
